I had great difficulty getting out then and had to use the emergency exits. Access to lift not available when I returned later that night around 10 pm and lounge and reception... More

As hotel is very noisy due to the club downstairs, but very close to everything in Sligo but a really poor service. I will never recommend it to anyone and never again to my parents! I think that you can find a definitively better place in Sligo for the same price. the club offers very good gigs during all year... More

I recently travelled to Sligo with a group of friends and stayed at The Clarence after it being reccomended as a city centre option. We stayed for two nights. On arrival we were greeted with very normal and down to earth staff, the building was lovely, old on the outside, with a modern twist inside. The rooms were clean and... More

I was looking for a place to stay as I was attending the Leonard Cohen Concert in Lissadell. When booking I was told about the clubbing that takes place in the Clarence but was assured that all rooms were completely soundproofed and well away from the hub of activiity. On arrival we were greeted by a member of staff who... More

When we went down next morning, dining room locked, than very young sleepy fella turns up to open up, and we were than told chef doesn't start till 10am, so no breakfast!! Small hotel - really central, walking distance for shops & pubs etc.......... I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going "out out" in Sligo - fab modern rooms & ensuites etc., but you would not recommend for anyone going for a quiet getaway. didn't go out in the hotel bar/disco but after a night at Velvet rooms, when...
