Yes, it is old and historical, near the Railway Station in Sligo in the heart of Yeats country. It is well furnished with an old-worldly touch, although there are no lifts. But it is comfortable and the staff are nice and pleasant.

Good place to stay. Rooms are nice and cozy, Sean is really nice and helpful, bathrooms are clean, hot water all the time, breakfast in the morning, free use of the computer, wifi for free. nice common room, kitchen (but no stove!!)

Came here years ago so happy to finally leave a review. Sean was the sweetest man and this hostel was the best of all that we stayed in all over Ireland, this one and the one in Glencollumkille (Sp?) This place is a gem. A clean, safe hostel nearby the bus and train stations. The Railway Hostel is operated by a couple (Maggie and Sean) who truly want your stay to be pleasurable. Free WI-FI; inviting community room with an attached mini-kitchen area; clean bathrooms; clean rooms. Completely pleased with our two evening stay. Thank you Maggie and Sean.

Clean and cheap. Comfortable bed. The owners were lovely, very helpful and friendly. It is literally round the corner from the train station and v close to town.
