My husband and I have just returned from a weekend at the Queens Head and as always it was a really enjoyed it. The staff in the hotel are excellent they make you feel really welcome and do everything they can to ensure you enjoy your stay. We have stayed there around 5-6 times in the last year so we... More

Having reviewed the website and previous reviews we were looking forward to having Sunday lunch. It did not live up to its claims. The choice of real ales was limited although the NVB Available was enjoyable. The menu was nothing like the sample on the website, restricted and quite ordinary. The food was exactly the same......ordinary. Service was good to... More

Visited in order to celebrate our wedding anniversary, as we read good reviews and checked out the menu on their website. The main attraction was the good selections of steaks, from USDA black Angus to Japanese Wagyu. Our expectations were fully met, even though we were disappointed initially when the black Angus was sold out. The whole meal was very... More

We have just returned from an overnight stay at the Queens Head. The 'self contained' room idea was really good. We parked outside our 'front door', collected keys from reception and opened the door to our room. Hallway with fitted wardrobe, bathroom with shower and a nicely furnished larger than normal bedroom, with enough room to sit on the comfy... More

We stayed for two nights and ate in the restaurant one night. Bar pleasant and cosy. Restaurant very welcoming and intimate. Food was very good. Staff member who checked us in was not very enthusiastic but all other staff very warm and friendly indeed. All rooms are motel style at the back of the pub - which we were happy... More

We phoned twice to see if they accepted dogs to be told 'Yes'. We were camping at Yarwell and arranged for a friend to pick us up on his boat. Lovely trip down the river and arrived at 20:30 on a Saturday. Turned away because someone was eating in the bar and the restaurant was empty???? Could not provide food... More

Thank you for writing. Unfortunately your comments are incorrect. in as much as the restaurant was very busy. We are generally very busy and especially at weekends. The empty room you describe is our function room where a large private party had just left. We do allow dogs in the bar area but to avoid disappointment we would always advise... More

A very nice old hotel with pub and lovely restaurant. Though, the friendliness of the staff varied. 4 of the 5 were very nice, but one was rather short and unfriendly. On the whole a very good stay. Though the bathroom was quite cold and the hot water not always very hot... but that is often the case with the... More

New to the area so went for a drink one Sunday evening. The bar was empty so we sat in the corner chilling out only to find a member of the management asking staff who we were and what we were doing!! Pub and Resturant looked nice however improvements need to be made to the atmosphere and welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to write. Unfortunately as we are in a village the restaurant is closed on a Sunday night as it is generally very quiet. However should you return on a different evening I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere. More

We have stayed here three times and will be returning again and again. The rooms are very cosy and warm. Our last visit as during the snow storms that hit the UK and we have never been as toasty. Staff are extremely friendly and can't do enough for you - but it is the food that is the outstanding memory... More

We decided to take a short break at this Inn after attending a conference in Peterborough. Sadly it was in March 2013 and unbearably cold outside. The views were superb but again the chalet style room was bitterly cold inspite of the heater. We had to ask of extra towels (only one bath towel originally between 2 people) and for... More

Thank you for taking the time to write. I am very pleased you enjoyed stay in particular the meal. I will have a word with the team regarding the cold room as although the heating comes on in the afternoon when the weather was as bad as it was we should be putting it on earlier.
