Stayed a couple of nights while walking in the area. Convenient for all main roads, although tricky if approaching from the other side of the Motorway until you get used to it! Reception friendly and helpful at all times. Ask for a room at the back and you don't hear a sound from the cars although people who slept at... More

We have stayed here before as it is so well situated for Ferry Meadows country park and for the City and it's surrounds. Several worthwhile improvements include full room redecoration, new sofa and we believe bed too, new carpets and a desk mounted flatscreen TV which swivelled making it watchable from any part of the room, so much better than... Stayed here for one night whilst my son was an in-patient at a local hospital. I paid £36.85 online for the room. Check-in was late evening and the receptionist was very nice. My room was room 9 which is on the ground floor facing the rear of the building. It is one of the older Travelodge rooms and entry is... More

Stayed over for one night , car park dirty , dingy and bad lighting not female / child friendly at all plus general surroundings outside quite untidy and not welcoming . Little chef next door looked closed and in bad need of some TLC also and it is the only place around to eat in the nearby locality . (Unless... More

We stay often at Travelodge for the price and location. This did not disappoint and we were pleased overall with our stay (although we weren't there long!). There is not a café on site, so be prepared to pay through the nose for a Little Chef breakfast. More

Our room was at the back which looked over the show ground but the rooms at the front have alot of road noise. This lodge says it has been refurbished, it looks better than some we have stayed in but is only a coat of paint and boarding round the bath to cover the tiles. Did get a good nights... More

I arrived to the staff smoking outside the front door - were given my keys and asked if i wanted to pay for breakfast (which i'd already paid for). After telling them I had already paid the man said to his colleague 'yeh i didnt even check', which is hardly good service. My room was down a dark corridor -... More

Basically fine for the price. Handy if travelling up or down the A1. I had a room over looking the A1. As it was so warm you could not have the windows open due to noise. With no aircon the room was unpleasantly hot. Disappointed with no free wifi. This also let's travelodge down. Even bed and breakfasts and Mcdonalds... More

we stayed here as a stop-over on the A1, although it was cheap, we were disappointed with the room as there was a bad smell and we couldn't open the window because of the noise of the traffic. Also, the water was not hot enough to have a bath after a long journey. There was, however tea and coffee in... More
