The Peterborough Central Travelodge is as souless and as characterless as the rest of Peterboroughs City Centre. The hotel comes with the obligatory Travelodge warning about noise levels from nearby clubs: the front of the hotel faces a series of clubs, though as my visit was on a Monday night and the clubs appeared to be closed it wasn't a... When we went into the room it smelled strongly of smoke but we were in a hurry so didn't ask to change. We should have! We returned from having dinner at around 10, and soon after a party started in the room next door. A party probably doesn't do justice to what was going on - there must have been... More

The Hotel is situated right opposite a few nightclubs that do generate a fair amount of noise. To their credit Travelodge do acknowledge this fact on the website. Despite this i was able to get a good quality of sleep during the two nights i was there. The Hotel is smart and modern looking, you enter via an obscure side... More

Our room was clean and comfortable, all we needed to get our heads down after a night in the city, great value if the room is at capacity. More

Terrible. Building looks disgusting. Entrance is too small. Room not refurbished or modernised. Only get a handful of TV channels. Room was dirty and shabby. Scenery outside window was terrible. Bed was like a stone. Best bit was when I left! More

It was like a visit to Alcatraz. All the way from the huge streak of bird excrement down the slit of a window, through the bare, undecorated room, to the provision of a single, uncomfortable chair that creaked alarmingly. And then the key feature of any hotel room - the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in for a long... More

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in- in fact I didn't stay, I left- but not before I had been given 4 different rooms-none of which were remotely acceptable- filty carpets, food and dirt on walls. There is also no security- I was given keys to two other rooms, both of which were already occupied, the hotel... More

My friend & I paid £56 for what can only be described as the most dreadful nights sleep in a slum hotel. Warning bells should have rung when we entered reception; passing a broken down lift, water all over the tiled floor (which I slipped in) a broken front door with no handle and the overwhelming stink of drains. We... More

1 night stay for business - I arrived late and left early. I was expecting dirty but it was pretty clean both in reception and the room. But the room was SO basic ... the soap was so plastic I could barely get any lather out of it ... the bed was a bit saggy. I was expecting noise outside... More

After realising that I had booked a hotel in the middle of a popular nightlife spot I dreaded arriving at the hotel. On arriving the rooms were very basic, everything was run down, holes in the walls, dirty bathroom, cheap shower curtain type curtains in the bedroom and several bulbs missing. The bath was very small and there was only... More
