We recently booked with the hotel directly, a 99£ deal for DBB...a great offer. Our room was fine, small but clean bathroom. The bubbly included in the deal was already in an ice bucket in our room on arrival. The only problem with the room was the noise the plumbing made over night! -we were on the 3rd floor, and it... This is a lovely, friendly and comfortable hotel. We have been coming to the Old Swan for years and since it has been re-decorated it is back to its former glory. Rooms are beautifully appointed, cleaned to a very high standard, the bed was fantastically comfortable and all staff have high customer service levels. It is in an excellent location.... More

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and found the staff very friendly and accomodating. The lounge / bar area with its open fires was very relaxing and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. We will definately return and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and... More

I have stayed here before. It is a very grand & majestic hotel. I recently received some excellent service when I incorrectly booked the wrong day. The hotel kindly did not charge me for their mistake. More

The hotel is at an excellent location. It's close to the center, on one of the quieter streets so level of noise from outside was minimum. The rooms were cleanish, though the bathrooms could do with some renovation. The bed was comfortable, but the rooms are smaller than what you'd expect. The furniture was old, but clean and neat. Breakfast... More

Following a booking error by laterooms, I was given an upgrade on check in. I ended up in a suite! Living room, huge bedroom and dining room! The room was very comfortable and clean and well appointed. Room service was fresh, well presented and tasty. A very good hotel at a reasonable price - would definitely stay again if in... More

Sorry - I really didn't like this hotel and it's 4* rating can surely only be justified by facilities rather than standards. The positive is that the location is excellent, just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Harrogate, and set on a quiet road. The hotel did have everything (almost) that you would expect, but it was... More

We spent 3 days at The Old Swan on a package coach trip to see the Joe Loss Orchestra. Again, like many others, I was apprehensive at the negative reviews I had read but can hardly believe those reviewers had stayed at the same hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly right from the start; the room was clean and... More

We spent a few days here at the beginning of February and like others, had some concerns about the mixed reviews, and as we had booked the winter package for £99 per couple we wondered how good it could be. However, we need not have feared. The accomodation was clean, comfortable and roomy. The staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast... More
