We stayed here for two night in july. Room was clean and big. We had a great view of the sea and we liked the breakfast. We did not use the pool or the gym but they looked a bit old. I bit overpriced but if we would have used the beach more i think it would be more valuable.... More

A 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk to the centre of very lovely Concarneau. Hotel l'Ocean has seen better days and is somewhat sterile with whiff of an old ashtray about it. Position and views right by the sea are good. Our room was big enough and comfortable but was lacking in any ambience or character. It was... More

We had a very unpleasant experience at hotel L'Ocean, Concarneau. Upon arrival the owners were unfriendly . Our sea view which had been confirmed by Brittany Ferries was not accepted by the owners, who told us it would be another 80 euros!! Our room was dated and had an inadequate bathroom with a plastic shower that could not be fixed... More

We were given an indifferent reception and things went downhill from there. Our no -smoking room reeked of cigarettes-we found an ashtray in the closet. Small room with two twin beds pushed together. No shower, the bathroom smelled like mildew or dirty seawater, and the bath didn't drain properly. Our sea view room overlooked a not particularly attractive bay that... More

We stayed here at the beginning of August for 3 nights, the hotel is in a lovely spot but it is a good 30 - 40 minute walk into Concarneau centre. The views are fantastic from the restaurant, i asked on check in if it was possible to have a sea view room but was advised that they book up... More

The hotel is located about 1 km out of Concarneau Centre on the Coastal road. It faces onto a beautiful beach, and looks out onto a protruding penninsula. The hotel is a few decades old and is decorated in the style of a cruise ship. The welcome is very pleasant and accommodating. It does at times remind you of a... More

I found this hotel overpriced and overhyped. The decor provided unwelcome flash backs to the 1980's, everything was well worn, although I must admit the room and bathroom were very clean. Speaking of the bathroom, it didn't even have a shower, just a bath with a short hose! The beds were uncomfortable, the worst of our three week stay in... More

We booked this break having seen some great reviews on Tripadvisor. We wanted a good value long weekend. We arrived late, having spoken to the hotel on the way. Although their restaurant closed at 9 pm they were happy to serve us after this time and were extremely welcoming and friendly. The food was great and all the hotel staff... More

We stayed for 2 nights in Sept 07. Lovely clean hotel with a lovely covered pool. Weather was very warm so it was just what we needed. Manager spoke excellent English (my French leaves a lot to be desired!). We only had breakfast but it was buffet style with plenty of choice. Would recommend and would stay here again. More
