The room we had was in the new wing. It was quite large and closer to the size of an apartment minus a kitchen. The staff was always helpful and if it was raining they were there with an umbrella to borrow. The location is nice and close to both the train and the city center. The hotel could not... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. I was nervous about it given some of the reviews, but we really had a great experience. The hotel is within a converted monastery within walking distance of all the sites in Avignon. The feeling of history permeates the whole hotel, from the central cloister to the domed former chapel tower. The shuttle to... More

I was a solo traveler, first time in France, and found the location easily with the help of local transit [I hopped off the train]. The check-in clerks switched to English after experiencing my babbling French and were extremely helpful and polite. I had a room that faced the inner courtyard and it was so serene, I actually spent a... More

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for two nights in April following a river cruise on the Rhone. The hotel is an old monestery. It is built around a beautiful courtyard. Our room was a studio. It was accessed by a lift to the 2nd floor but then we had to take our luggage up 2 flights of... More

We stayed at the Hotel Cloitre Saint Louis for a few nights in September 2011. We had a wonderful experience there due to the room, hotel staff, and the beautiful hotel itself. The one staff member was particularly kind and after days of speaking French, not only politely spoke English but also was so kind and accommodating in terms of... More

We had booked an "Exclusive Double Room" via Booking.com. When we arrived quite tired after a 400 mile drive we were told that we "had no booking". I can only presume that they'd "lost" our booking as they clearly had a large party booked in on a conference that night. We eventually managed to get booked into a smaller room... More

Very good location within the walls of the old city. The bus stop for the TGV station is 2 minutes away and the central station is just across the road. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around. The old part of the hotel is beautiful and very atmospheric. The room we stayed in was in the new, very modern... More

My wife and I stayed her in late October. The hotel is very well situated in the main street of Avignon and easy walking distance from the train station but some distance from the TGV station. We had had a difficult day of travel as a result of a de-railment and arrived about 8.30pm at night. Service on arrival at... More

We were with a group, and had large renovated rooms in the new wing. They were like suites with the toilet separated from the bathroom and the bedroom. We enjoyed breakfast, which was included for us, and found the staff at the desk very helpful. Everyone went to separate restaurants for dinner one night and all were pleased with the... More
