Le Magnan provides reasonable service and simple accommodation. It is located right by a gate in the walls of Avignon, at some distance from the primary attractions (Pope's Palace, river, etc.). The front desk was present at all hours we came and went. The middle of the building is a large leafy courtyard, which was not yet in use in... More

I stayed here for 4 nights as a solo traveler after having spent 10 days in Paris. It was VERY HOT in France during this time period of my visit (unusually so), and after traveling by train, then bus, I arrived at this small, modest hotel within the walled city. My room was on the 1st floor of the interior... More

Very kind, helpful and friendly staff. Clean rooms. Nice window with view to the little patio, Walking distance to the center. Surprising breakfast for the price level (good croissants, still available close to 10am). Definitely worth the price (way better than anything I experienced e.g. in Paris in this price range). More

We are two ladies that have been travelling for a while and had the misfortune of staying in this place. All started the night we arrived when we got to our room and noticed it was boiling hot due to the floor being really hot ( something they still havent told us why). For this reason we had to sleep... More

From the outside this hotel is nothing to look at but inside it is lovely, and the staff are helpful and friendly. While the room is basic, it is clean and of a reasonable size, as is the bathroom. There is no lift, but the stairs are not too difficult to climb. The room has a ceiling fan, which provided... More

A good budget alternative to the more glamorous large hotels. Rooms were clean and of good size and with some character. En suites are dated and small. Breakfast is basic but adequate and was included in the price (this had not been expected). Helpful staff. More

I just spent a weekend at the Hotel Magnan and wanted to update some of the information in previous posts. Despite what the signs say, they now have a 24-hour front desk, so you no longer need to remember the room code. Also, they're finishing up renovations that (according to the front desk) affected all the rooms. I know my... More

Quite a good two star hotel. Room was €80 for two of us and breakfast another 8 per person. Good choice of stuff for breakfast. Room clean and pleasantly furnished overlooking a leafy inner courtyard. Staff very friendly and helpful. No hotel parking. Free parking nearby but it can be hard to get a space, even in September. (First off, there are two hotels in Avignon with similar names...the other it Mignon, Make sure you get the right hotel. This hotel is supposed to be the "nicer" of them.) Anyway, at Le Magnan we were disapointed and actually left early for another hotel. pros: - Good location, just inside the wall of the old city. - Secure. They... More

Unless you like sharing your hotel with parties of students I would not recommend this hotel. We had the misfortune to be there when there was a party of Italian students who kicked up a din until the early hours of the morning and prior to that there was a party of American students . It was rather like living in... More
