Gorgeous views from the room and balcony, an inviting pool with comfortable lounge chairs, friendly people at the front desk, and a delicious breakfast. What's not to like? Also, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and there was plenty of storage space. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job of cleaning the room every day as well. In short, Le Versailles is a wonderful hotel, and we're already planning a return stay for next year! Tip: There's a #15 bus stop just across from the hotel which will take you to the Nice Port in ten minutes, and from there you can walk along the quay to the Cours Saleya in Nice's Old Town (getting the bus tickets is a bit tricky, though--it's best to buy them at the Nice train station or the airport).

We had a fantastic stay! The room had two rooms and a large bathroom in between. It was clean, large and perfect for a family of four (7yr and 9yr old boy and girl). The pool was lovely with plenty of loungers and it is only a short walk into the centre of the village. Gorgeous view out over the bay and all the anchored Super Yachts. Pool menu was lovely and fresh- Greek Salad was delicious! Breakfast a bit over priced for what it was however.

I can see why the Hotel is 3 stars, rather than 4, however this Hotel is far better than most 4 stars. Firstly the staff are very friendly, I have never checked in so quickly. The Air Conditioning along with the Bathroom facilities were better than most 4 star Hotels. I would recommend taking the breakfast, it’s served to you, off a limited menu, but more than enough and it’s a lot more relaxing than a buffet. The Restaurant is not part of the Hotel, but again the staff made you more than welcome to sit on the terrace for a drink, you cannot charge to room though, but that’s not an issue.

Stay away. We arrived here for a 6 night stay in July and it has been awful from the beginning. We booked a triple room for our stay, the priciest option but needed the space for our family. When we arrived we were told “you’ve been upgraded!” It turns out that really they moved us to a smaller room with no air-conditioning (in the middle of July) located directly under the restaurant which is incredibly noisy until between 12-1am. The room they switched us to is not only smaller but lists for a cheaper price and no attempt was made to refund the difference. No attempt was made to fix the air conditioning either so my family slept with the windows open at night to try to cool the temperature as much as possible. Still, the temp at night in our room was between 80-90F/26-32C. When I continually asked what could be done the staff just shrugged their shoulders and said either “there’s nothing I can do” or “I don’t own the place.” We love the area - amazing place to visit. This hotel, however, is so bad and unhelpful it’s absurd. If it wasn’t the high season and we could have booked something else we would have. Some additional items in case they’re important to you: they advertise that laundry is available (for a fee) yet we were told that laundry is not available. They advertise WI-FI throughout but it really only works in a few spots. The place looks great on social media and their website but that’s just some good marketing. It’s poorly run, out of date and rundown, and absolutely unhelpful.

The pool and views from everywhere in the hotel were the highlight. The hotel is on the smaller side so nothing ever felt busy. The staff at the reception and pool bar were all so incredibly friendly and helpful. Villefranche wasn’t even on my radar until I booked this hotel and was pleased to find that the cute little village is just a short walk down the road! Very easy to get to the train station or grab an Uber. I would definitely stay here again!

Overall it was an amazing stay! My family absolutely loved Villefranche-sur-Mer. It was a charming, fun area with amazing views! The Hotel Versailles rooms were good size and our two rooms had balconies that overlooked the Mediterranean, which were great for sitting and just watching the water. The staff were very nice. I am an American who learned French in high school about 10 years ago, and the staff very graciously let me practice my French. The breakfasts at the hotel were also great.

We have been to Villefranche many times but have usually stayed at a hotel on the front but this time stayed at the Hotel Le Versailles. I would highly recommend it, the room was very clean and comfortable with a wonderful view over the bay. It was a short walk down to the main centre. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a problem downloading our boarding passes but the really helpful man at reception printed them for us. Would recommend and would stay here again!

This is a beautiful charming small hotel. It was a little bit of a walk to the center of the town / train station/ old town but that’s probably just because i get lost easily and i enjoy walking so it was fine. The rooms have beautiful views, there is a lovely pool and it was wonderful to eat breakfast outside. They had a great fruit salad in the morning.

The hotel rooms aren't fancy but are nice and clean. The pool house is wonderful - great breakfasts (the omelettes are the best we've ever had!), lunches overlooking the bay and not too busy! We loved the vibe here! We ate at the restaurant one night and it was excellent! It would be nice if the hotel linked up more as everything seems to be run separately but we had a lovely relaxing week.
