I was there as part of business trip. The booking was made and paid by one of our suppliers. Late arrival and check in was managed well. I had a huge piece of luggage that I had to carry myself to the third floor. No staff was available. The basic room had malfunctioning TV and bed light. After 20 min... More

My mother and I stayed here on a road trip through France and I thought it was absolutely lovely! We had no problems with any of the hotel staff and I though the general ambiance was excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The pool was very calming and a very nice side to the hotel. No, it was not on... More

Just stayed for an overnight and found the room very basic. We also booked for dinner, which was ok, but service not good. Overall a very expensive and unexpiring stay. Tables for breakfast were not even laid up and little breakfast choice considering the extra charge. More

The building is charming, but all the rest....starting from the rooms, so small that you wonder if it is a joke. Additionally, the service is inexistant, they make you feel invisible. I might have chosen the wrong weekend (S.Valentine's), but, pls, if you know you have all these guests, provide additional personnel. I had paid for the package room+dinner and... More

This is a classic example of not doing enough research aforehand. I chose this hotel from an internet review for a significant wedding anniversary. Having driven over the mountains from Lyon and around the lower end of the lake, we were astonished to then find that the entire town of Aix les Bains is not on the lake but a... More

Booked a room here that supposedly had a garden view (paid quite a bit more for it). Our balcony was too high to see over without standing up. The bed was very old and lumpy. We did not have a shower, just a bath with a shower spout. The room smelled bad (old and musty), and there was no air... More

Classy hotel with lots of character (aka old) we loved the old building with its staircases and corridors(not to everyone's taste). The double rooms were on the large side and I think the views get better the higher the floor. The grounds appear to have vintage cars dotted around them and there's a good pool and spa in the new... We booked a junior suite here thinking that "OK - it's only a 3 star but maybe the suite will be nice". We didn't see the standard rooms, but my advice would be not to bother spending the extra money on a suite. It was just a slightly larger room with the smallest double bed that I have EVER slept... Our family spent 3 days at this hotel last month. We booked 4 air-conditioned rooms through Chateaux & Hotels De France on-line. When we arrived (in the midst of a heat wave), we were placed in non air-conditioned rooms. After hauling our luggage back to the reception area, we were assigned 3 foul smelling air-conditioned rooms. Initially, I thought they... More

We went by train ( March Easter 05)from Lyon to Aix-les-Bains- situated on a lovely lake. I had rung the tourist office who suggested the Hotel le Manoir- ( very comfortable traditional )which is set in a garden and through which it is a 2 minute walk to the new Thermes Chevally where you can bathe in the hot thermal...
