Our friend in Tuscany also recommended Garmisch-Partenkirchen. We found the Atlas Grand Hotel on Booking.com. The room was in the newer wing of the hotel. Very clean and comfortable. We especially like the sauna. Charming city that gives you a very nice Barvarian experience. More

First impression of this hotel is it's very grand exterior and it's fabulous location. Stayed in Partenkirchen lots of times, and I love it! The Bavaria experience is just lovely in this street, with some great local bakeries, eating places, ski shops and bars. Our room was very traditonal dark wood with an enormous bed (!!) and a very modern... More

The hotel itself as character even though the renovation was not the greatest and it would need another renovation. We booked the most expensive room cathegory with balcony. The room is quite small and a disapointement for being one of the best rooms they have. Bathroom is ok and the balcony too. The all athmosphere is faded but the worst... More

We thougth that this was a different hotel, but found that it was a remodeled Post hotel. The remodel was an improvement but it was still a little ragged. The location is pretty good as it's on a walkplatz in charming Garmisch Partenkirchen. Staff was friendly and helpful. spoke English. Breakfast was very good. Not my first choice of hotels... More

As a family of four, two teenage children, we stayed here for four days last week after travelling from Munich. The hotel is set on a quiet street and is in a traditional style, dating back some 200 years or more with later additions. The breakfast is excellent - great coffee in particular, and the views from the deck and... More

We went to the Atlas Grand for their grand reopening in May of 2010. It was incredible. Unfortunately when we returned this year we were slightly disappointed. We had hiked the entire day and were looking forward to sitting in the sauna and maybe having a swim. We were told the pool is unheated so would likely be too cold... More

High rates and bad service, especially at breakfast that was charged as extra price (€12,00) and rooms amenity. For double room we spent total omount of €336,00 for two nights. Bed sheet didn't has replaced. As well they. Didn't replaced soap, shower gel and shampoos. We were two people. As well at morning breakfast food availability was really poor. At... More

We checked out different hotels in both villages of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and this was definitely the nicest and best value. We had a lovely room which you got to through the garden - which is basically a weird pond/swimming pool. Great views and the church bells were rung enthusiastically at 6am quite close by! The breakfast was very good, there was... More

We (me, wife & dog) stayed one night on our drive down to Lake Como. This is a very charming establishment in traditional style, with a main building that holds the public rooms and an attached annexe with bedrooms round a courtyard swimming pool and garden. The staff are friendly and helpful but we were surprised to find that the... More
