We had booked a double room with a package for meals and tickets and were delighted to be given a corner suite which looked out on both castles. The meals, although they were set menu were exceptional - one served in the Lisl restaurant and the other in their sister hotel the Alpensee. Overall the package was great value. The room... More

Don't let the somewhat rude and unhelpful front desk staff scare you away from this hotel. Overall, the views and value made up for the short interaction we had at check-in. We had paid for a standard room, but ended up in a huge corner suite, with amazing views of both castles. The room was dated, but clean and comfortable.... More

I would never recommend this hotel because of Maria - front desk clerk. The room was perfect but service is horrible. We were in the hotel for one nigth but we decided to stay longer because we had loved the room and until that moment the hotel service.  We went to front desk and Maria was in charge of the... More

We spent one night in hotel Lisl when we came to visit the Neuschwanstein castle in the winter. The location of the hotel is great, very close to both castles and the view from the windows is really amazing! The hotel is kept in the old style what makes the atmosphere special. Free secure parking is an advantage, internet access... More

Gorgeous views more than make up for the slightly unfriendly staff... The hotel is traditional, breakfast is good and the location could not be any better as it's positioned right in the centre of the village with lovely views of both castles. Rooms are slightly dated (built in 1970s clock radio included!) but warm & comfortable. Not sure why the... More

We didn't stay at the hotel but went to the restaurant for dinner after having visited the castles. The view of the two castles is breathtaking on the terrace which is the main reason we chose this restaurant. The food was also pretty good though nothing exceptional. The bad part was the service: slow, unfriendly for half the staff and... More

Did not stay at the hotel but joined others for drinks and snacks after the castle tour. It was a nice, shady area to sit in the summer and enjoy beverages while watching the pedestrian and horse-drawn carriage traffic. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious and the drinks well rendered. A great little patio to sit and... More

We were celebrating wedding aniversary and our bedroom was very romantic: two windows, two castles! Our bedroom was in the corner of the main building, on the highest floor. Unforgetable. Just one negative point: the staff was very rude. More

This is more a review of the Main restaurant in the hotel which looked very nice but was spoilt with the rude and high handed behaviour of the waiter . We were the only Asian tourists in the hotel restaurant . Description of waiter is loud , condescending and requires training in treating patrons . It's shameful and I wouldn't... More

Wonderful location, right next to hiking path up to Neuschwanstein Castle. Across from Hohenschwangau Castle. Our room was a little outdated but fine. Food was fine. Wifi in lobby and staff will loan a laptop to check your emails. Nice place to stay check out the castles, then relax for the evening. Hike up to Neuschwanstein is a decent workout.... More
