Our arrival at this little B&B, right under the Castle in the valley was just right. It had been raining and we were on Motorcycle so we were cool. At that point we were the only arrivals. The owner took us in, insisted we have a glass of juice before she showed us a room ( nice move), then came... More

DEFINITELY stay here. I would encourage everyone to consider staying at Gastehaus Weiher. Why pay exorbitant amounts to stay at the fancy hotels? You would be paying for proximity and views...and I guarantee the view of Neuschwanstein is unparalleled from this guesthouse. Location: Most people arriving from Fuessen will be taking either bus 73 or 78. These can be boarded... More

We spent a night at Gasthaus Weiher, during our recent trip to Germany. Great accommodation for family with kids and reasonable prices (don't forget that the balcony is just facing the breathtaking view of Neuschwanstein Castle!). Rooms are clean and comfortable and the Gasthaus is just some hundred meters away from the city center of Hohenschwangau. Breakfast is wunderbar (I... More

We stayed for one night, in two seperate rooms with 2 teenage girls. The rooms were old-fashioned, but clean. Beds were a little too short though. We had a big balcony (shared with the neighbouring room), where the view was excellent. Unfortunately there was repairs at the castle, so it was wrapped - but still great view to the alps... More

From the train station, the guesthouse is ten minutes by bus and another ten minutes by foot. The location is perfect for visiting the castles, which are only a short walk away. Herr Oswald greeted us with refreshing drinks, and Frau Oswald served breakfast and gave us sandwiches and chocolates for lunch. The room rate was a good value at... More

No TV, no internet. Instead, a view of the fairy tale castle, mountains all around and millions of stars at night. perfect. Frau Oswald, even though she does not speak english, takes excellant care of you and keeps puttering around like mother hen during breakfast. she will even give you a bag to wrap up some extra bread and cheese... The guesthous is located about 800m from the bus station (bus 73 or 78 from Fuessen train station). The husband speaks excellent english however the wife generally chooses not to (although she can!). The room was basic with no TV or internet access but fairly spacious with 2 separate lounge areas and access to the verandah where you get a... More

My partner and I stayed at Gastehaus Weiher in late September, 2011. I must agree with a previous poster who describes the Frau perfectly. She had an eye-patch on when we arrived so she may not have been feeling so well, that being said I suspect she is not often openly "warm and fuzzy". When I explained (in my beginning... More

Frau Oswalt is getting along in years, so she probably won't be able to provide the level of service she has in the past. She is a little crusty on the outside, but a sweetie inside. She does not speak English with you, but we had a suspicion that she understood our English. The Gastehaus Weiher is in a great... More

Owners made us feel like honored guests. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The view was breathtaking. Inexpensive doesn't do the rate justice. Their rates were very senior friendly. It was much more than reasonable. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful, and the owner provided plastic bags for us to make sandwiches for lunch with the buns left over from... More
