We stayed in this hotel through a vacation package. They did not inform the company that the entire hotel is undergoing a renovation and is covered in scaffolding. Hotel stated it’s a city project but that doesn’t seem likely as they talk about remodeling on their website. By not sharing this info they do not risk losing bookings as we would not have stayed there. We were not able to leave windows open and enjoy any views nor could you with construction debris blowing in. Work was sometimes going on as early as 6am. One night there was strong winds and the sounds of blowing plastic and falling scaffolding kept us awake. The inside is old and charming and could use some updating. The showers were so small you had difficulty moving with accidentally turning the water off. Breakfast was over $16 and had no hot options, only continental and NO coffee except a vending machine that gave out only warm coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were clean. 2min walk to bus or 6 to tram.

Yes, it's an old hotel with very old-fashioned looking interiors. We really didn't feel it was like a 2-star hostel as previous reviewers have suggested. It was at least clean and comfortable. Two minor issues at the time we were there. The view out of the window (a courtyard) was obscured by netting covering the windows due to the building works going on out there, presumably to prevent debris from entering the room should you have the windows open. And scaffolding. And the work started up at 7am on a weekday. Bring your earplugs (assuming the work is still going on in November). Actually, bringing earplugs is always a good idea. I imagine that a room at the front might suffer from traffic noise. The rooms are presumably converted into en suites resulting in smaller bedrooms. Our room was an awkward shape due to the necessity to work around the radiator in the bathroom. But it was clean at least. The show was a bit 'iffy' at times. However. It's in a good convenient location, was a reasonable price, the room and bathroom were clean and the bed comfortable. Didn't have breakfast there (there are quite a few cafes serving huge Turkish breakfasts across the road) so can't comment on that. Would I stay there again? Probably not. There are other smarter looking hotels in Berlin at a similar price. If you're not bothered by smart then this could be a suitable stay. The few staff we came across were friendly, no complaints there either.

Terrible interior. The room is claustrophobic old and dirty. The hotel is like a Cheap hostel, not a 2000euro hotel for 3 days!!!! Check in took 40 minutes. The pictures in the internet are nothing like the horrible old room we got. Old dirty and extremely cramped rooms. We had no place to spend the night with a child. Corridors dirty. This hotel is some kind of price joke with fake photos. Price scammers. We feel cheated.

I have recently begun doing city breaks with the family, I am happy with a hotel that is clean, safe and well-priced as ultimately it is somewhere to sleep when you get back from a long day of exploring. This hotel ticked all the boxes, the staff were friendly, the room was spacious and easily big enough for the 4 of us (family of 4 with 2 children aged 13 and 11). There was plenty of shops, bars and food outlets nearby and a bus stop right outside from where you could get a very frequent bus to Berlin Central station (number 245) in about 10 minutes. The only negative I had was our last night was a Friday and we didn't realise the staff had put us directly above a pub/club until that night when the music went on until the early hours. I recommend asking to avoid this part of the hotel at weekends. Otherwise a very nice base for which to explore at amazing value.

Good, old fashioned hotel in a period palace, not far from the central station. I would certainly advice it in the winter (no a/c) and at the excellent price I paid. Good room with fridge, nice old style interior and common spaces. I reserved two rooms for lack of spaces at the time of reservation, but they managed not to change my room. Better to ask for an inner room.

100% happy with this hotel. Family run. Lovely staff. Brilliant breakfast with a massive choice (til around 10.30 on weekends and 1 p.m new year's Day!). They have earl grey tea which I drink religiously each morning (many places don't!). We had a massive room for us two adults and two children. Clean. Plenty of space and storage Spotless bathroom. We will definitely go back to this hotel. Very good price.

The staff working at breakfast time are so friendly. The breakfasts are catered for all tastes with a very wide variety of hot and cold food. The bedrooms are fine but you only get one very soft and flat pillow. The taxi service from this hotel is excellent with them coming quickly and knowledgeable drivers.

We had a one-night enforced stay in Berlin because of a cancelled flight and stayed here. The room was very comfortable, although extra pillows in the room would be good. The breakfast spread and service there was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside I can see is that the room had no AC and in the hot weather of late this is a bit of a disadvantage for a good night's sleep. However, the hotel represents excellent value for money. Close to a U-Bahn station also.

Lovely 3* B&B hotel close to Tiergarten, good location near the river, charming building. Fabulous breakfast for 13 euros. Room was good with good facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only drawback was no air conditioning although they did provide fans.
