My visit was actually in August 2009, but I'm not able to select this as an option. This hotel easily accommodated our party of three and made us feel at home. The owner is a charming older man who met us at breakfast with travel maps and willingly answered questions for us for a good twenty minutes. He showed us... More

I was very happy with my stay here. I received a free up grade to an ensuite room. The manager is very friendly and is full of good ideas for things to do and see in Berlin. Excellent location ! Rooms and fittings are older style but adds to the charm of the place. More

I travelled to Berlin on business reasons. Pros: Friendly manager, a "mom and pop" business. Clean hotel and rooms. Great location. Quiet. Cons: For this price I expected much more. The breakfast is dull, you get some bread, butter, spreadable cheese, three slices of cheese, three slices of salami and an assortment of jams, as well as some orange juice,... More

I am not a negative person, but for 82,- EUR a Night for a Double with Breakfast in the low Season, you could expect more - to say the least ! We were 2 Families who planned to stay for 4 Nigths, but after 1 Night we moved to another hotel nearby, 4 star with breakfast Buffet for 99,- EUR.... More

The owner is wonderfully helpful and accommodating with a keen understanding of where different groups of people will want to go in Berlin. He went around to tables at breakfast and offered different suggestions, which for my purposes, were spot on (including where to find things that looked like they came from the famously expensive department store, KaDeWe, but at... We exchanged personal emails with the owner before going, so that we felt we already knew the owners! We went for the England v Germany game and changed the amount of people going a couple of times, but the owners were always helpful and accommodating. We've stayed in lots of these types of pensions around Europe watching England and this... More

We stayed for a week at the Pension and first of all, the location is a great plus. Located in a very chic neighborhood, you not only have many restaurants and shops located around you -it also has a feeling of a cool neighborhood and not a sterile setting. It is also a quiet. Located so close to the Kantstrasse... More

We enjoyed our stay here - the rooms were spotless and cleaned every day, and breakfast was adequate. the staff were really friendly and helpful (although we didn't get to meet the famous Manfred!) the location is great - very close to u bahn and s bahn stops, and on a nice leafy street in an affluent area of west... This is an old-fashioned pension; clean, comfortable, friendly and very well-located. My single room with bath was roomier than many places I've stayed in Europe in this price range. The bed, made up with a warm duvet, was very comfortable; the bathroom was small but functional (note that no toiletries were supplied); the very high ceilings lent a feeling of... More

We stayed at the Charlottenberg for three nights in July 06 and found the place extremely comfortable, affordable and clean. The location is just about perfect to enjoy all things Berlin. So centrally located to nice restaurants and transportation to other parts of the city. Breakfast was way more then adequate. Best of all the proprieter Manfred went out of... More
