Nice little hostel, fairly close to the main touristy areas of Cologne. We had a private twin room which was quite big and roomy - the shared bathroom was immaculately clean and the common room was really comfy too. Best of all there was free (& reliable) internet access which seems to be quite hard to find in Germany! More

I spent a few days solo in Cologne to hit up the famed Christmas markets. The Black Sheep is a pretty great hostel as far as things go. It's located a little out of the centre of Cologne, but nothing is further than 20mins walk and there is the subway which stops across the road which is 4 stops away... More

This is not a place to stay if you are not a 'hostel person'. I really felt that I was staying in a fairly ordinary hostel at Black Sheep.
