The rooms have been refurbished since our last visit - not the height of international luxury, perhaps, but nicely decorated, very clean, with comfortable beds, good lighting options, big wardrobe, plenty of luggage space. Unlike some other reviewers, we had a good-sized bathroom with shower over the bath, bidet, etc.. Good air con and heating (can be cool at night... More

The service, including at meals, was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic, particularly the smaller rooms where there really isn't anywhere to sit and read except the bed. The en suite was not well laid out so it was a balancing act with towels, dry clothes and toiletries. The water temperature of the shower was unpredictable - we... More

We stayed here one night in January, on our way through. We were walk-ins and were very warmly welcomed by the owner. It has not been the cheapest place we stayed in, but it has been one of the best dinners we have had during our trip and one of the most quiet sleeps. When we mentioned our lack of... More

We couldn't return soon enough after our fabulous stay in September 2009, once experienced there is a longing to return to The Taray. Once again we were not disappointed. The Taray for us is a place of tranquility, inspiration and relaxation. Not only is the setting and the hotel a beautiful gem, the owner and staff make it fabulous. Eladio,... More

We have stayed here about four times during the last eight years. This time we decided to stay for a whole week and we did not regret it. The hotel's rustic theme and personal service appeal to us. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Alpujarran scenery. The gardens are filled with attractive fruit trees and... More

This is a beautiful hotel situated so there are mountains everywhere you look. You can eat right off the trees in the orchard, the owner is there and happy to help with anything, the pools (one 1 meter, one 2 meter) are lovely. I think there are only 15 rooms so I imagine it doesn't get crowded even during peak... More

We’ve just been back to Taray for a second 9 night stay, after enjoying the first so much in 2008. Have to say, we enjoyed it even more this time. The owner, Eladio, is a wonderful man, with just enough English to convey his wicked sense of humour. The hotel and grounds are an oasis of tranquility – the perfect... More

We stayed - with a view to booking another 10-15 weekend trips whilst overseeing our build. I called and spoke to receptionist / lady who quoted me 107 euros special offer for 2 nights. On departure I was asked for 178! I disputed this and the owner as good as called me a liar! We were made to pay up... More

I stayed at Taray for four nights in July and it was great experience. On my first day here and after few days travelling around Andalucia I decided to just relax: the place is perfect for this as it is very private . I spend the morning by the pools, everybody seemed to have gone to Granada as we were... More

We stayed for one night in one of the "studio rooms". We've stayed before and i can't comment on the other rooms as we stayed in the same but we got a lounge, bedroom and bathroom - all sparsely but charmingly furnished (and with a terrace on the roof of ours). The grounds are very pretty - lots of fruit... More
