I recently stayed with my family at the Hotel San Gil. The hotel has a lovely entrance and inner courtyard, the rooms are large and there is a pool on the roof. It is in a good location and close to a number of great restaurants and bars. However, the staff at Hotel San Gil really left a lot to...

We stayed over a week at this hotel in the Macarena neighbourhood in Sevilla. The historic building has a great little courtyard with beautiful old trees. It is in a good location close to La Alameda. The front desk staff were pleasant at check in. Our room was clean but the furnishings were old. Bed was a little hard, but...

I was a little hesitant booking the San Gil hotel after reading previous reviews, but decided to give it a fair chance.
First the "good" stuff...
I must say firstly that the room was clean, we stayed on the 3rd floor at the back of the hotel in the new section and the bathroom was wonderful.

We had a three night stay at the San Gil. The hotel is situated in the Macarena district which is a good location to walk to the centre and also very convenient to walk to Hercules Square in the evening which is very lively with its many bars and restaurants dotted around. The hotel also offers parking at 16€ per...

I couldn't help but giggle at the previous review, as it seems we were staying at the same time and had very similar experiences!
We spent three nights of our honeymoon at the Hotel San Gil. It is located about 20-30 minutes from the busy tourist places, but we appreciated being outside of that area.
Whilst we loved Seville, this...

I booked this hotel based on it's location away from the main tourist areas and being within easy walking distance of the sites. In all these points for me it's scored highly. Unfortunately the staff working there seemed indiffent about the guests. Almost a take it or leave it attitude. 4 days we stayed and not once did the desk...

Stayed here for 4 nights with my boyfriend in May last year.
This was our first trip together and we were so happy with our hotel choice for a romantic weekend. We got an upgrade to room 401 wich is on the top floor and has a really nice veranda. It is on the same floor as the pool, although...
