We'd stayed in some of the paradores, and this one is not one of the nicest. However, it's in a good location, in the corner of a lovely park, and a short walk to the beach. Not many restaurants in the surrounding area. The only possible downside to the locations is that is right next door to a soccer stadium,... More

Not one of the nicer paradores. Location is lovely on the corner of the park although a hike to the beach and a long walk to the Plaza Mayor and old town where many of the restaurants are. Breakfast is basic for a parador. Staff are hit and miss -- some helpful, some almost dismissive. Rooms small and dark. Shutters... More

Visited Gijon last year when we one of our children on exchange before travelling into mountains. Delighted with this small relaxing Parador located in lovely park. Nice walk to beach. Gijon has a great beach. We stayed 2 nights. Didn't eat in so can not comment on dinner. Breakfast was good with made to order eggs. We ate out locally... More

Pleasantly situated within walking distance of the beach and old town. Lovely park behind the hotel with friendly ducks and geese! Good restaurant serving a good selection of regional foods. Our room was spacious , clean and comfortable. The hotel has a car park although this is quite small. More

A decent hotel on outskirts of Gijon near a delightful park and excellent beach. Room pleasant and well equipped but a bit dark - only glow worm light bulbs that made reading difficult! Staff very helpful and in the restaurant, a delight. Dinner was excellent and set a superb standard. Go for the dessert with the 4 tastes of the... More

This parador is adjacent to a lovely park, and although it is a long walk, we enjoyed going along the harbor to the main part of the old town where there were numerous restaurants, shops and sights to see. Definitely a pleasant stop on our trip. It would be nice if they included even a simple continental breakfast for the... More

Very overpriced for a Parador. Unable to open windows in our room because of smell from park of foetid water from all the ducks, geese etc. Restaurant food was badly cooked, poorly presented and tasteless. Although close to main beach, Parador is surrounded by high rise apartments and a sports centre/shopping centre.Glad we only stayed 1 night. More

this is a modern parador in a very built up area, and does not have much charm inside or out. It is perfectly up to standard and also has a good restaurant. we were a bit surprised that parking and breakfast were charged for, unlike the paradors at Leon and Santiago, so we ended up paying more than for Leon.... Location: the Parador is surrounded by the largest park of Gijón, which helps to have the feeling not being right in the middle of the city. Although the Parador is in one of the borders of the main beach (and a bit far from the old town), we went walking to all of parts of town. However, there are plenty... More

We received very poor service from the staff at this hotel. They were almost rude and extremely unhelpful. Our car was broken into in their car park during our stay. Although there was CCTV the night staff did not know how to use it and the day staff refused to check whether there was anything on it, saying it wasn't... More
