We went to Formentera for a relaxing holiday and were not disappointed. This hotel is a little isolated but it is fine for a week if you just want to relax in the sun and chill out. I think that it may have been a bit too isolated for a two week stay unless you had transport. We were going... More

My husband and myself had heard that Formentera is a beautiful island and so off we went on 01.05.10 for a two week holiday. We seem to gravitate to small islands, many Greek ones, also Bali, Fiji and plenty of others and this one is, of course, much closer to home than some of the others. Good journey and reception... Excellent spot, if you like isolated and quiet. Lacking cleanliness overall, sometimes it was hard to find a clean bowl for cereals. Rooms were clean... But not spotless! Some people were extremely helpful, some looked annoyed when asked for something. The bar was particularly annoyed with every order, and I am referring to a simple toast. Overall it was expensive,... Me and my partner booked Cala Saona with Thomson in May to avoid the peak season. They looked after us during transfers and we had a great rep in Formentera who knew the area very well. We were pleasantly surprised to be one of only a few couples staying at this hotel. Not many people spoke english, even the guests,... More

If you choose to stay at this hotel, you should do so in the knowledge that the location is simply this hotel, a highly recommended beach bar (closes 22:30) and 2 restaurants (both close midnight). If a quiet resort sounds good to you then read on. The rooms are very average spanish hotel rooms, so clean and pleasant enough but... More

We had a lovely room with a sea view. The sunsets were unbelievable. The sea was aquamarine. The food was great with fantastic garnishes ie a swan made out of a beef tomato! We were spoilt for choice with the meals with plenty of different foods to try. It was very well presented. The staff were extreemly helpful as we... More

We booked for a week end July/early August through Portland Holidays on a half board basis. We loved the location as we wanted a relaxing week by the sea. There are 2 restaurants which serve good food - the better one is the one nearest to the sea. They serve fresh fish which is superbly cooked. On the left hand... More

We booked the hotel Cala Saona because of its location and the supposed views, we requested a seaview however on arrival we were show to a small, stuffy, room with dated tired decor overlooking what seemd to be the kitchen extractors. When we refused to accept this room we were given a room which looked out on to the road... More

My wife and I have just returned from 2 weeks at Hotel Cala Saona. We had no complaints about the facilities. The room was large enough with a fridge ,air conditioning, bathroom and balcony. The meals were very good- you could see that most guests were going back for more - the advantage of a buffet. The downside -sometimes a dish... More

Despite problem caused by airport rep not giving us our welcome pack which would have included our ferry tickets from Ibiza, which meant we were dropped off at the harbour with no idea what to do, once at Cala Saona, thanks to the friendly and knowledgeable agent John, we were soon back on track and everything was worthwhile. Location is... More
