It's difficult to find anything reasonably priced in Santander in August but the Cabo Mayor turned out to be a gem, there are only a handful of rooms nicely appointed and the family that run it are on hand to help when needed. I agree with the excellent reviews for this hostal. On our Camino it was the ideal place to stay in Santander. In front of the bus and train(RENFE and FEVE) stations, just in the center of the town. Small, but very clean and quiet room with very comfortable bed. Excellent wireless connection. The room had everything you needed, TV, fridge, coffe/tea maker with coffe and tea bags and sugar. The staff were very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
