This hotel is a lovely venue right in the center of the city of Haro. It oozes character and charm and serves a fine breakfast in the large patio. The patio is a very nice place to sit for an evening drink. In October the weather can still be warm and apparently the air conditioning is not still on. I... More

Our room was spacious with a well appointed bathroom, well furnished and with superbly comfortable beds with memory foam mattresses. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the dinner in the restaurant was of excellent quality and cooked to perfection. The location makes this hotel a very good base for touring tha Rioja Alta. More

As other reviewers have said the public areas are really amazing and the central courtyard is very imposing. Our bedroom was fine, as was the food and the service we received. Travelling with a group of classic car "nuts" meant the secure underground car park was much appreciated and the staff were immensely helpful when one of our group had... More

Los Agustinos has had a mixed history, having been everything from a monastery to a prison in its time. It is now an upmarket hotel with a venerable feel to it. We were invited here for a friend’s wedding - and what a location! Within easy reach are vineyards, bodegas, many historic buildings and pleasant countryside. Like the hotel itself,... More

We recently toured Spain with our relatives. We spent our first night in the Rioja district here. The hotel was nicely situated for the festivities that were to occur later in the evening. The rooms were charming and the dinner was excellent. We managed to leave our garment bag in the closet of the room as we rushed off to... More

Given the money spent on the public areas (which are imposing and full of designer touches) we were surprised to stay in a room that was old-fashioned and in fact a bit shabby. This hotel is not cheap, so that was disappointing. We ate in the hotel as well - the wine was, as one would expect in Haro, superb... More

I agree the rooms do not match the lobby but frankly the lobby decor doesn't match the building. This is an extremely old building that was a convent, prison, and now a hotel. I was not expecting modern, updated rooms. The rooms had old style furniture that fit with the building. The room we were in was huge and had... More

I love this hotel: I first went there just a couple of weeks after it had opened in 1989, and have been going back ever since, with business colleagues, on my own, and with family. It's been a while since my last visit and a great deal has changed: most notably the cloister, which used to be open to the... More

This is an old convent/barracks/prison and the architecture makes a great first impression. However, the rooms don't appear to have been touched since the 80's, and although clean, are in serious need of renovation. Service was pretty functional too, got the job done, but in a pretty off-hand way. More

The lounge/communal area in the hotel is lovely and they'd obviously spent a lot of money on it but sadly the actual bedroom was disappointing. The bathroom was fine but the main bedroom was tired with a stained and threadworn carpet and only just big enough for the main bed and a cot. The style also didn't match the main... More
