Excellent location, right next to the National Library (well worth a visit), 5 minute walk to Puerta de Alcalá, Cibeles and Retiro, 10 minutes to El Prado. Flat very basic but also very clean and practical (don't expect any luxuries, but for the price we paid we were quite happy) and it's quite convenient to have access to a small...

We stayed at the Apartamentos Recoletos as a mature couple for a week in April 2012. It was easy to find when arriving by car and not difficult to get in and out of Madrid, if touring other place like Segovia and Toledo, excepting peak periods. The day of our arrival was a public holiday and the person on the...

This is not a very nice place to stay. In other words, if you are going for a romantic weekend in Madrid with your significant other, don't choose this hotel for your stay. It's old, depressing, not as clean as you would hope, in a clear state of deterioration. Our dor, for instance, woulnd't close properly, and we had to...

I wrote a review before and I gave some positive feedback. All that has changed. This year I bought breakfast for the 6 nights that I and my boyfriend stayed there. The first 3 mornings we went to the breakfast room, told the lady our room numbers and then had our breakfast. On the 4th day there was a different...

First, the place looks much better on the website than in real life. It's too big to be cozy and it's kind of shabby, it has definitely seen better days. Fortunately, they have reconstructed the bathrooms since its heyday, so they're all right. The rooms are spacious. We had one of the interior rooms, so the view was not much,...

9 times out of 10 there were no English speakers available at the reception area. I'm not one of those arrogant tourists who expects that all hotels in foreign countries should have English speakers. It's just that the hotel claimed that this was so and it wasn't. Anyway I enjoyed my stay here since I speak Spanish. I love the...

The best thing is that it is just in the center of Madrid and in a shirt walk of everything.
The cleaning is good and I haven´t problems with the keating.
The street is very quiet and you won´t have problems to sleep.
Problems: It needs urgently new beds, I wake up every day with backache.

I stayed here for four weeks while studying at a nearby language school.
All in all, it was OK. I had so much fun in Madrid and at the language school that I have very fond memories of my time there.
The bathroom I had was nice. There was also a little kitchenette. The beds (twins) were comfy enough.
One...
