Go to Las Musas hostel you will have a better experience trust me! Okay where do I start? Service: poor/inconsistent - if you get the grumpy old man, he doesn't speak english and shrugs his shoulders a lot, never smiles and avoids solutions to problem. - when I asked about the wifi not working he just shrugged his shoulders -... I was a bit concerned after reading some of the other reviews but I don't see too much of a problem with this hostal at all. First of all you can't really complain about the location, within 2 minutes you are near Callao or Gran Via. It's a great spot to be. Yes, there are prostitutes nearby, but to be... More

good quality-price, to be downtown, so close to all the major madrid attractions, the metro station (callao) and the shopping area of gran via, malasana and chueca. lot of rooms, quite tiny but decent, clean. watch out, the walls are thin so you can easily listen to all the tv shows your neighbors are watching.. plan to have your earplugs... Even if this hostel is on 5th floor, it's been one of the most possitive experiences for accomodation when thinking about a place where to stay in Madrid. Located just a few blocks away from Gran Via and Chueca points of interest, this place has perfectly clean single rooms with nice beds, AC, a huge space to keep your clothes... More

Good location near metro, but it was quite difficult to find and the hostel's sign was sooo small I walked pass it many times. We had to check the address to make sure and finally found it. The room was clean but rather small and we couldn't open the window because the construction outside the window made it full of... More

We booked this place based on positive reviews on tripadvisor. I don't know who wrote them, but my experience was quite different. We booked room number 19 for a two night stay. The elevator was large enough to accomodate one person only. There was ongoing construction right outside our window. When I say outside, I mean that you could shake... More

It was just a nice hostal, small but great...excellent location, just a few blocks from the Gran Via, and 4 blocks from Plaza del Sol. Lot of fun around, the agency to take day trips was about 7 blocks...metro station just 3 blocks away. Clean & the stuff was nice...for such small hostal I have to say that the price... More

Everyone has written about the hookers in the area so I will only comment that hookers are in many tourist areas in Madrid. My husband and I were never bothered. The hotel is only a five minute walk from Gran Via and another five minutes to Plaza del Sol--excellent location. The room was extremely clean, although it was small and... More

We stayed in this hostal for spending a long weekend in Madrid. I'm actually living in the surroundings of Madrid, so I got to the hostal before to have a look at it before booking. It was rather difficult to find it, because it is in a small street on the second floor, but in fact it's only two minutes... More

I arrived at the Hostal Condestable after a long journey across Madrid from the airport by Metro. I would advise using this as on my return I took a taxi from Gran Via Metro costing me 24 Euros- very pricey. I must admit that I found it very difficult to find the Hostal which is in fact very easy to... More
