This place needs to be tore down. I can't believe the reviews it's getting. The room stunk, the bedroom smelt so bad I couldn't even sleep, it was disgusting. The shower was horrible! I stayed in Aarangi for 10 nights in February, The motel is 5 seconds away from the beach, rooms are spacious and very clean, hosts really helpful and friendly. Since there are only two motels and one or two B&B's east of Parnell in Auckland, this gem is one short block from Kohimarama Beach. First night (2) in New Zeland. Dead tired after the flight and it was kind of tricky to find the hotel. Location (when found) was great. Out of the city but easily accessible. For location, this is a great place to stay. Beautiful beaches, resturants in walking distance, completely of the hustle and bustle of Auckland city, but a short and easy drive to the CBD.
