We booked into the Hotel Maikol based on the fact it was near Termini station and fairly cheap - 110 Euros a night which is good for Rome standards. Our room was much bigger than we expected (having stayed in a box room in Paris for around the same price) and we received a warm welcome. The hostess let us... More

Tonight is our last night at Hotel Maikol before our 7am departure tomorrow. If you are thinking about booking a place to stay in Rome, I strongly urge you to book a stay here at Hotel Maikol. I booked this hotel at regular rack rate based solely on the glowing reviews from TA members. Though some commented the hotel was... More

Can't fault this b & b ! Clean , comfortable , close to some sights and transport links . Owner very friendly and helpful , always asking if we were ok and if there was anything we needed . Found our tour starting point on internet for us as she wasn't 100% sure of location . We were leaving early... More

This is a very small hotel/b&b on one floor inside a fairly busy building. We had a hard time finding it when we arrived at night, as there is only a very small sign on the building. In the morning, there are lots of vendors that set up shop right outside the building. The hotel itself is run by a... More

Our second time visiting Rome, first was for a Wedding so we didnt see much, great city for sight seeing but over all experience with the people and services was appalling, so rude and unpleasant, services were terrible also, no public toliets anywhere, with the exception of the main metro (self-service) it was very efficient. I suppose they dont see... More

We booked the Maikol hotel after searching for a cheap but reasonable hotel in Rome. We found the hotel easily after a short walk from the termini. No more than ten minutes and contrary to other reviews we found it easy to find using descriptions given by others. We were greeted by the owner of the hotel who apologised our... More

Nice place to stay, very affordable, clean and close to the train station and the metro. It's in a neighborhood out of the touristic area which I found interesting. My niece (17 years old) did not. The walks are long to the touristic area. If you love to walk and brouse around; it's great. You get to see how people live. When... More

Stayed as a family in December 2011 for 3 nights. Excellent Service, the staff was really helpful and waited up for us as we were arriving in Rome rather late in the evening. The breakfast served to your room was really good and convenient; a great way to start the day. They were also helpful in helping us to plan... More

We stayed in Rome for two spells of 3 nights in March 2012 and found Maikol to be a gem. The hotel is spotless and very well located. The management are very helpful and informative and just a pleasure to deal with. We will certainly be staying there again when next we go to Rome. More

Maikol is a small hotel about a ten minute walk from Termini train station. It is very modest, but our room was large and comfortable, and everything was squeaky clean. It also included a very nice breakfast delivered to our room. The owners are just great, so anxious to be helpful and welcoming. A very nice find, especially in Rome... More
