Great location in being close to pantheon and Vatican, great roof top terrace over looking Rome but rooms in desperate need of an update. A step back into the 80s, shower built so water goes straight onto bathroom floor, hot water intermittent, can hear peoples conversations in rooms beside, elevator extremely slow stairs quicker, double bed is 2 singles pushed... The hotel is well located near Piazza Navona, we had a nice, clean room, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom. The shower temperature was hot and cold. We liked the breakfast every morning. Like most in Rome, the staff was not so friendly and could not care less. We walked absolutely everywhere, even to Termini. I would not hesitate to come back... More

We stayed over the weekend Italy played England in the Six Nations. Room basic, bathroom mouldy, hot water intermittent. staff mixed between helpful and disinterested. Breakfast on top floor OK in Continental sense. Well situated adjacent to Piazza Navonna and all major sights in walking distance. Would find another hotel on next trip More

This hotel is situated in a perfect position near the Tiber river, so you can walk to The Vatican, Prati and Trastavere neighbourhoods and also all the historic areas of central Rome. There is a bus route at the door to Termini Rail Station and Colosseum if you do not like to walk this far. The roof top terrace with... More

The Genio is in a great position near Piazza Navona, The noise from outside and from within the hotel is extreme, we could hear the next room using the bathroom and shower, (we were in 303), you could hear conversations from other rooms as you walked past. The roof terrace has some great views towards the Vatican and the city... More

WE stayed here for three nights, it's in a great location, the staff are friendly, the breakfast is great and the rooms are comfortable! Within walking distance to ALL the sights. We found an amazing tratorria in La travestere called la Frashetta, amazing food at very reasonable prices, don't leave it too late or you'll have to que. More

Last month (Nov. 2011) we spent 5 days at this centrally located Rome Hotel. We booked online so we really didn't know what it would be like since photos are often misleading. This time they weren't! And we didn't realize the good price included a large delicious buffet breakfast. There are back rooms that are dark but they let us... More

We stayed at the Genio several years ago, and liked it very much at that time. Now, it is better than ever and everything appeared to have been redecorated. The staff were exceptionally helpful, with advise on transportation to the hotel from Tibertina train station, and even helped us print out our boarding passes for our trip home. Our room... More
