Clean, comfy and a fridge with complimentary 2 bottles of water and 1 bottle of wine on arrival. What's not to like? Well, okay the wine was an oaked Chardonnay, but you can't have everything can you? Staff were very friendly and helpful; I also got my first ever 'upgrade' from a single room to a double. Breakfast was decent;... More

We booked a room here on the strength of their website - it looked very classy if a little dated and traditional. It has a 4star rating too so we had great expectations. We were greeted very nicely by the lady on reception who's customer service skills were excellent. We were shown promptly to our room - we were surprised... More

My husband and I stayed at the Gambrinus Hotel recently for 3 nights. We were extremely happy with the location. It was quiet and away from the noise and commotion nearer the most popular sites of Rome. We could walk to most everything - the Termini Station, the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, etc. There are nice stores and restaurants nearby as... More

My husband made all the arrangments for our five day trip to Rome and due to pressure of work I did not look at the reviews for the Gambrinus Hotel until we got back. I was rather surprised and had to double check I had the right hotel. Positives: all staff were friendly and could speak English. The hotel although... More

Hotel brilliantly located, walking distance from both the train station and main sights but also has a bus stop right outside. Staff are very friendly, approachable and helpful. Room very clean, lovely big pillows, free wi fi and a fridge in the room. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of variety, lovely scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, local breads, fruit and cakes.... More

The hotel was recommended by our travel agent and we have absolutely no complaints. The staff are friendly (especially the gentleman who greeted us each morning at breakfast!) and helpful. On checking in we were given a run down on how to make our way to various tourist sites as well as using public transport. The rooms are very clean... More

Arrived early for check in... No problem, leave the luggage go to lunch and on return, checked in, luggage already taken to the room. Staff very friendly and helpful, Rooms beautifully clean and fresh, Breakfast a little Basil Fawlty but that adds to the charm. On check out no problem about leaving luggage. Overall a very enjoyable stay. More

The hotel offers everything you need for your stay in Rome. The reception staff were very helpful in detailing which buses to take and to where and the breakfast was of good quality. We upgraded to a superior room and did still find the walls a bit thin but you really don't sound that much time in the room to... More

The Gambrinus is a quaint hotel in a quiet area; friendly front desk staff who were very helpful. Our room was in the building next door, an apartment type building with a huge wooden front door and a very old lift. Our room was small but modern, clean & opened to the front street through huge windows and shutters. They... More
