We have stayed at the Mecenate Palace several times over the last 8 years, and have always felt welcome and pampered. We have stayed in the older, smaller rooms as well as in the newer more modern ones. We enjoy the breakfast, the cocktails, and the food in the restaurant. The location is ideal, and we have never had a... More

Spent five nights here with my family the first week of April, 2012 and we had a total of four rooms for everyone on our trip. Our room, while smallish, was clean and nicely appointed. At first we thought the hotel wasn't really up to standards, but it really grew on us. The front desk staff were friendly, the breakfasts... More

This was our second stay at the Mecenata. The first time we had reserved and pre-paid for the stay with an online booking website and had no problem. Roberto at the front desk was not that friendly but everyone else seemed very nice and we loved the terrace and breakfast. This visit I booked directly with the hotel. I offered... More

Have just returned from a three day break with friends in Rome where we stayed in the Mecenate Palace. The hotel is within easy reach of all the sights of Rome either on foot or by tourist buses that pass the square just along from the hotel. Our room was fine, apart from the double bed that was a bit... More

Lovely little Hotel.Helful staff,Room was clean & breakfast was adiquate. Located next to the Tain station and metro stop.Nice.A 10 minute walk to most of the tourist spots in Rome. I was hoping to get a view of Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore from my room window, but no such luck. More

Booked a Superior Double Room, which the hotel website suggests is in the middle of the range of offerings. The room itself was very nice. Not spectacular, but tastefully appointed in a vaguely 18th/19th century style with plastered ceilings and wallpaper, though the actual pieces seemed of more recent years and were in good shape. The room and bathroom were... More

We are regular visitors to Rome, but this was our first stay at this hotel, and we were very pleased with all aspects of our stay. We booked two double/twin rooms for 3 nights and were put in the 'executive rooms' which are in a separate building a few doors down the road. These have the advantage of being spacious... More

I booked this hotel for a special anniversary, so paid extra for a 'superior' room. The entrance is smart and we were registered quickly and efficiently. I was surprised that our room overlooked rear apartments as I had emailed and requested one overlooking the square, however it was nicely furnished and decorated, if a little small, and on reflection was... Despite booking a twin room in January we arrived the first week of April to find we had been allocated a double room. The receptionist who booked us in didn't bother to tell us this, in fact we were lucky he decided to come off the phone to book us in at all. When I queried the room he told... More
