Located in front of the famous Trevi fountain, a short walk to nearly evrything important; the colosseum, the roman forum, the constantine arch, piazza nevada and the famous streets for shopping, there is also a bus stop with buses going to Vatican City for 1 euro, buy the ticket at a tabacco store (ask the reception for the nearest one).... I agree with Alison, Julia and Jovik. Poor service all the way through, old furniture ,bed was not comfortable, small rooms, so noisy with the fountain and tourists, could not sleep due to noise. I paid 230 Euro for one night in this 3 star hotel with absolutely no service. I was in the room with so called view but... More

Fantastic location but appalling service.Arrived at breakfast on our last morning to find no clean table so cleared one ourselves. There was no juice ,no pastries- actually there wasn't much.Another guest phoned the manager to say help was needed. He arrived upstairs and in front of all the guests he told us we had to wait in a very rude manner! The... More

I am writing this as I feel compelled to advise travellers who might be on the verge of booking this hotel to think twice. I was staying at the hotel at the same time as Jovik below, so I can vouch for the fact the the manager Andrea Arte is SO RUDE it is beyond belief that he is working... More

My best advice is: Book upgraded room, superior. All other rooms are VERY small and windows to the back. Upgraded rooms are fronteed to the fonten and have aircondition. The breakfast was terrible, and the manager was rude when we tryed to complain on breakfast. All in all, avoid this hotel More

This quirky hotel - no two rooms are the same - is all about its location. The Breakfast room has the best view in Rome! (you can also go up their in the evening for a night-cap.) The staff are friendly and efficient without fawning all over you. A lot of the previous reviewer's talked about the flat screen tellies.... More

Rooms were small but clean and cosy , we were thrilled that we had a room with a view but when I opened the shutters there was scaffolding right in front of the window but this didn't spoil our stay there . The staff were very friendly and helpful . When we stepped out of the main entrance the Trevi... More

we stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. our room, facing the back, was relatively quiet. we paid 130€ per night- which we thought was a great price for a hotel in this stunning location. the room was nice and clean, with very tiny shower, though. the breakfast room on top was supberb, especially the view towarda the trevi fountain.... I just returned from another trip to Rome and the Hotel Fontana. As a hotelier myself and a well-travelled snob (for lack of a better term) I prefer to stay in delux 4* or 5* properties and I will be the first to admit that at first glance, this hotel does not fall into those categories...HOWEVER, I refuse to stay... Booked superior double room through Expedia based on the description on the hotel website, which claims a view of the Travi Fountain. However, upon check-in we discovered that the view was blocked by a giant billboard that was attached to the maintenance scaffolding. The billboard had an advertisement for a car. The hotel must be making money of that billboard.... More
