The name is definitely all that this hotel has in common with Basil's - the staff couldn't be friendlier or more professional. The location is great, especially if you don't know your way around as it's very close to the main Termini bus and train station and about half the bus routes in the city end up there... More

I think this place has recently been renovated and decorated, it is v. clean, with a good public area with micro wave, fridge, free internet etc and a nice little terrace to escape the heat. Rooms are basic but the one I was in was spotless if a little noisy, as it was next to reception area. I was travelling... More

It was reasonable value to me as a budget traveller. If I wanted any more comfort, I could have paid more. Take flipflops for budget hotel bathrooms if it makes you feel better. Having said that, the bed was very uncomfortable and any foot traffic in the corridors or conversations late at night at Reception woke me up. The presumably... More

I had the misfortune to book 2 double rooms at this filthy hotel and I'm writing my first review to help others find a better (any other) hotel. First, this is not a 2* hotel, it's a hostel. Second, seems lies in advertising are not punished in Italy, because they wrote on my booking I'll find in my standard room... More

Place much have recently been done up as our room was very modern clean & tidy. Think we paid 50 euro for the two of us mid November which was the cheapest we had in Italy. Chose here as close to the termini & because of the roof terrance - which is no longer but hey. Breakfast was one of... More

I'm surprised at some of the negative comments about this place. For 30 euros a night I got to stay in the heart of Rome, in a lovely little hostel, with nice staff, a great terrace for breakfast and free coffee/tea and pastries. I stayed for three nights in the hotel floor rather than the shared hostel rooms - my... More

The best things about Fawlty Towers are its location (very close to Roma termini), price and friendly staff. Inside, there is a small kitchen, a balcony, a TV area. Unlike other budget places, this one regular beds instead of bunk beds, which aren’t the most confortable, but certainly will do for the money you pay. More

The location is pretty good (just a few steps from termini) Overall it's poor with facility and the beds were very uncomfy but it's OK to stay one night or so but find another place if you're planning to stay longer. More

I had to sleep one night at Rome, before taking my flight back to Argentina. For me, that was travelling alone, it was a bit strange. For one side, it was good enough, because I only wanted to sleep, and leave the baggage a few hours during the day to go for a walk on Rome. But I have to... More
