This is not an easy place to get to if you are using public transport. The walk from Due Ponti train station is dangerous. Also, the train from Flaminio to Due Ponti looks very dodgy (not that we had any issues on it). Upon check in we were required to leave a passport as deposit, which we were nit happy... More

Located on north side of Rome, this nice campground also has cabins/bungalows to rent. You can quickly and inexpensively get access into into Rome (~20 minutes) by taking the train (the station is within walking distance) across the street from the main entry gate. We stayed in the Sorrento bungalows and were very happy. Free carparking, wifi was €5 for 3 days, room had air-conditioning (needed in September) and a bar fridge.
