Firstly there is zilch signage out on street so I spent wasted time walking round in circles (this is really an apartment in a block and no signage avoids tax I was told). Not really a proper hostel ie. no common area to chill out; small dirty kitchen; tiny toilet & shower cubicles; unreliable hot water; beds are old and... More

We were told on arrival that our room was cancelled and we would have to pay more than double the amount if we wanted a private room. We could have a dorm room at the same price but as part of a honeymoon this was definately not acceptable. More

This hostel if you can even call it that has been without a doubt the worst place we have stayed at. the place was crawling with bed bugs, the man who greeted us when asked if he liked rome said 'no the tourists annoyed him' (actually pretty funny really), the toilet didnt work and we were moved from the hostel... The worst hostel we've stayed in! When we woke up the whole bed, including our own sheets were filled with bedbugs :( . We managed to stay one more night but left because it was so disgusting! They were everywhere, also on the walls! Furthermore there was only one knob on the stove, the toilet was broken and it was... More

We arrived at the address emailed to us only todiscoverthat we were housed in a "unit" in a seedy part of town near Termini. No signs on any of the buildings so call before you leave the train station or airport. We were very close to transport and sights. Hop on hop off bus close to termini but get a... More

Stayed in Rome for two nights and on a budget so decided to stay at the hostel in a private room. After checking in at the main hostel we were taken to the private room which is actually based 15 min walk away in an apartment, in not the nicest part of town, The room had no heating or hot... More

AVOID this place! It`s infested by BEDBUGS, I woke up the first day with bug bites on my feet. We didn`t know why... we thought maybe it was an spider. Next morning, the problem was worse. all over my legs... We stayed there for 3 nights, but we realized about the problem when we left. Our bags, clothes and even... More

The website claims friendly owners, free breakfast, maps and tourist adivce, air conditioning and above all a "safe and quiet" hostel. We arrived in the dodgiest backstreet area of Rome, hiked up 5 flights of stairs to reach the reception where we were grimly greeted by three blokes chain smoking and wandering round a dingy kitchen area shirtless. We were... More

Unfortunately for us we read the reviews of this hostel only after our stay. The hostel is close to Termini station, which we thought was an advantage. Although it took us a while to find a small Calatafimi street. We still could not believe we found the place as the door bell button was not easy to spot. The reception... More

I like beginning my reviews on a positive note so here goes: Two Ducks Hostel is close to the train station (5 minute walk if you get the "main" hostel, 10 minutes if you get the "other" hostel...I will explain later), and they give you free breakfast. Okay now onto the negatives. We arrived at an unmarked building whose address... More
