We were booked into this rooming house at the end of a cruise before catching a flight home. This had a very miserable entrance at the end of what one would call an alley. The hotel was on the other side of the alley with a very ugly stone staircase, we had to ask if there was a lift -... More

The location of this hotel is perfect, right in the centre of historical Rome. It is on the same road as the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo is at the end of the road, the Trevi and Trion fountains are within a 5 min walk and the Pantheon is no more than a 15min walk. The hotel is very basic... More

I had been in touch with Hotel Doge the day before our arrival to explain that we would be checking in late. I was assured by a member of staff in writing there would be no problem. Upon arriving at Hotel Doge the following evening by taxi, very late in the evening, we were told that we were booked in... More

Absolutely loved the location of the hotel - 5 minute walk from Metro, Spanish steps and Trevi fountain, with loads of shops and restuarants near by. We stayed in a twin room that just about had room for two small single beds. There were no plug sockets that worked apart from the one the TV was plugged into so constantly... More

Hotel Doge was a tiny little hotel right in the Heart of the Historic District of Rome, within walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and so much more. We stayed in a double room, which had a double bed, matching draperies and bedspread, clean 4 piece bath including: toilet, bidette, shower and sink. The towels looked like huge... More

We stayed at the hotel Doge in Rome for 4 days. The hotel is in need of a complete facelift or major renno! The reception staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast staff were terrible, everything was too much trouble! They expected you to eat off the paper place mats. I always asked for a bread and butter plate. The... More

The Hotel Doge (which also includes Hotel Firenze - we couldn't figure out the difference) was very conveniently located to many of the tourist attractions in Rome and to the Metro. We have a great stay and the staff was very helpful and friendly. More

We stayed at the "Hotel " Doge for three nights. The hotel reception area was very dingy and dirty. Room was adequate rest of hotel was in need of a coat of paint and cleaning rather depressing. Breakfast wasn't worth the effort only went once, coffee, roll with jam ,or cornflakes and juice, very disappointing. The front desk staff though were... More

This hotel is set up as if it is an apartment building converted into a hotel. Every floor is separated by dingy flights of stairs and concrete walls. We were put into a room that had one double bed rather than two single beds (which we requested) and the entire room smelled of smoke. We requested to move rooms and... More
