The location is fine, fairly convenient for the city center with the light rail. The hotel has, as of March 2012, some renovated and some non renovated apartments/rooms. The non renovated ones are spacious and clean, but quite a bit run down (nowhere near the international standard for a 4 stars). The pool is a joke, and is almost always... More

A party of four of us stayed at the Mallia for a rugby international. The hotel is pretty far out of the way, I suppose a mile or two north of the Vatican. There is a train station next door which will get you down to the Vatican fairly quickly with connections for the northernmost of Rome's tubes, but late... More

I stayed there with my wife for a week this September. We appreciated its location out of noisy streets and easily reached by combination of metro and train. What a relief was to see the hotel walls right ahead of us moving up at the elevators of Balduina train station after hectic walks in the city every day! The superior... More

Residence Mallia offers spacious apartments with an own kitchen, sleeping is comfortable and staff is helpful; however, it is quite far from the city centre and it takes a while for the train/metro to come especially in the evening hours. More

Just got back from 5 nights at the hotel, and was unsure what to expect, our room was lovely, see pictures. As everyone says it's a bit out of the city centre, but you will pay a lot more for one in the centre. Our bedroom did not have a kitchen so didn't have the problems others have mentioned. It... Too far from the city, about 1,5 hours with train and then change to metro. Trains heavily delayed or cancelled every day. Taxi to central Rome costs about 25 euros. You cannot use the metro after 8.30 pm, then it is closed... (No night buses to the hotel). Nice spacious rooms, ok standard. No views. Most balconies in shadow. If... More

The positives - the room was very roomy and the hotel was reasonably clean and a bit nicer than the photos on this site. The breakfast was very fresh and comprehensive Careful of the try ons - they change €30 for cleaning the apartment kitchen which is a disgrace and we refused to pay. the pool is not open air... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the hotel!! Yes it could do with a some work doing to the outside of the hotel but the inside was lovely. I think we stayed in the smallest room they had but this was still spacious and very clean, we had our own veranda outside the room which could have done... More

We spent three nights in this hotel. It's a bit far from the main sights in Rome - You need to use public transportation which is close to the hotel. Rooms are spacious, but need some renovation. Awesome, small family-runned pizzeria is couple of step behind the corner down the Carolis Steet. More

This is bit far from the main attractions in Rome. if you are in ROME for more than 2 days than this hotel suits you. Rooms are very big and comfortable. Make sure to take the train timings from station. In Night train stops after 10:30 Pm and frequency is half an hour after 8 PM. Breakfast can be much... More
