Carugiu is a very good place to stay for visiting the Cinque Terre. It is well-located in Manarola, a few minutes walk uphill from the railway station and close to everywhere else. (Manarola is a tiny town.) The owners are very friendly; they speak no English, but their daughter-in-law runs a nearby trekking store, speaks excellent English and is most... More

Staying in Manarola (2nd city of the Cinque Terre) was the most pleasant of our 2 week trip in Italy. We did Rome, Florence, and Venice in addition to Manarola, and Manarola was the best experience we had. Two nights in Carugiu B&B in Manarola was fantastic. Christine speaks fluent English and runs the B&B for her in-laws. Everyone was... More

We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. The location is towards the top of Manarola so there is an intense hill to climb up from the train station, but is not a problem if you are in shape. It is only like 5 minutes from the train station. We stayed in the downstairs room which was a... More

We stayed in Carugiu (in the smaller room downstairs) for 3 nights in early September 2011. It was a lovely clean room in a lovely village, which makes you feel like home. We enjoyed staying in Manarola very much - we liked it much better than all of its neighboring villages (feels a bit less touristy). The owner's daughter in... More

A great host, nice apartment, great location. You should go to the Cinque Terre. You should stay in Manarola. And you should sleep at Carugiu B&B. It's really that simple. The apartment & information provided by Christine far exceded expectations. I had a folder full of information on how to get around & what to see when I showed up,... More

We stayed here for 8 nights and it was wonderful. Manarola by far is the best town to stay in Cinque Terre if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere. The room was very clean, it had wi-fi and a fridge to store our breakfast and lunches in, it even included utensils. Christine, the woman who runs it, is extremely... More

We stayed at this B&B for three nights in May of 2011. We stayed in the small apartment upstairs while our friends stayed in the room downstairs. Both these rooms are separate from the owner’s apartment so its not like a traditional B&B where you share the accommodations with the owner. The kitchen and balcony were very small but it... More

I gladly give 5 stars to Christine, our host at Carugiu B&B, as she was very sweet, fun and helpful. Yet the lodging itself leaves a bit to be desired, earning 3 stars (and we had the larger suite). The suite is comprised of 3 areas--a small dark bedroom, a little eating area, and a nice bath. It was good... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and it is a lovely place. We were in the larger room. It was exceptionally clean. Christine was very helpful and informative regarding things to do in the area - recommending hikes and restaurants. We bought cereal and milk for our breakfasts before realizing there were no plates or utensils to... More

My mom and I stayed in the larger of the two rooms, and were able to peak in the smaller room. Everything is very tidy and clean with nice bathroom with shower. Our room had an extra little room with a table, fridge, and balcony. We did not pay extra for the breakfast as it is all packaged, and they... More
