We stayed at the Standard hotel in December 2009 and found it's position and family rooms to suit our needs. We re-booked in 2011 for a party of twelve people, four rooms. Three of the rooms were paid for in full in November 2011. At no point was I contacted or alerted to the fact that our bookings had been... More

Spent 2 nights at the Standard Hotel on a flying visit to Genoa. Was a bit nervous on arrival as the exterior of the building is quite run down. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious, bathroom same. Location is great, main station is 2 mins walk away as is bus stop to airport.... More

The hotel is clean, the staff is very helpful and the location is excellent. It is more a 3 stars than a 4 stars however, so you should try to get a low fare. I had one, so it was definetely worth what I paid for. More

This hotel does not want to be what they are not, which is a top hotel. It is a simple hotel with cozy and clean rooms. Staff is the best this hotel has. Very attentious and sympathetic people we dealt with while staying there. Breakfast is something they really need to improve as reposition of the items being consumed was... More

This hotel is very well located although this may be one of the few positives about it. However in saying this I think my view of the hotel is subjective because there was no air conditioning for the two nights we stayed. Being the middle of August and quite hot it was very uncomfortable to sleep. I would not recommend... More

This was probably the easiest hotel we have ever stayed at to find. Straight off train, straight ahead to the left. It was also a good location to explore the port and walk to the cruise ship terminal. Although if you are older maybe take a taxi as the cobbles and a bit of a hill may be an issue... More

Soon as I got to my room aircon wasn't working, tried adjusting the controls nothing happened. Reception said there was a problem expected to be fixed in a few days, I was not pleased. Receptionist gave me a fan which was OK until you went to sleep then it was too noisy. Later saw printed notice in English/ Italian by... More

We stayed here with my parents for 4 nights in June, having got the train down from Turin. The hotel is at the 'train station' end of Via Balbi, literally a 2 minute walk from the station exit. Check in was easy and we had rooms next door to each other. However, the air conditioning was not working for our... More

After staying at this hotel I cannot understand some of the negative commentts that have been posted previously. On my arrival I was given access to my room right away despite the fact that I had arrived early (1pm). The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. The corridors leading to the bedrooms are a bit of a rabbit warren but... More
