food is excellent, the service is exquisite and the prices are great value for money. A traditional local food run by a family that will make you feel at home!! Parking is very easy and a reservation is recommended. We came back twice in a week (we tries many more places but no comparison is possible). Thanks to the chef, Marco and the owners. We will come back again soon!

Stayed with a group on the Tour Du Mont Blanc and eat at this restaurant for two nights. The staff were very welcoming and the food plentiful and very good quality. It made our stay in Italy. We ordered the 20 euro menu which was a fine example of Italian cooking.

For the second winter, we've been spending 4 night at this nice and cosy little hotel located in La Palud and just 10 minutes' drive from Courmayeur. We are a family of four, with two teenagers, and we were glad that we could stay in one of the two Family Rooms. This time, we were on the first floor, with balcony and great view over the imposing mountains. The room was clean, spacious and well designed, also in terms of privacy. The bathroom was modern and very functional. The location of the place is fantastic. Within 10 minutes' walk, you can either take the Skyway to Mont Blanc or reach the ski slopes at Val Veny. From Dolonne, a short drive from the the hotel, we could get to Maison Vieille, where our children experienced skiing and snowboarding. Also a short bus ride from the hotel, is Val Ferret, with its stunning and unique landscape. It is the perfect place for cross-country skiing and for snow-bike riding. Our days were fully packed, because we were just a stone's throw away from all the amenities. Once back, late in the afternoon, we knew we could count on a traditional meal at the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The food there is great and served in big quantities, and prices are honest. There is also the choice of a fix menu for Euro 20, including dessert. We took our breakfasts there and they were more than satisfying. We'd like to thank Ms. Lupo, whose hospitality made our stay truly special. Without her, we would have not been able to fully appreciate all the area has to offer. We highly recommend this family-run hotel.

We completely endorse prior posts about this lovely small hotel run by a delightful lady - genuinely like your "scatty aunt"! Room 3 on the first floor has two old but comfortable single beds stuck together and used as a large double. Small ensuite shower, again old but working, and everywhere spotlessly clean. Great value B&B at €85 a night in high season. Great breakfast of cereals, cold meats and cheese, etc., and really good coffee, provided by the hotelier herself. We weren't so lucky on the food in the restaurant. This is now in separate ownership from the hotel, and although they feature an €18 "menu fisso" on the boards outside, which the hotel offers as its half-board option, they only give you the a la carte menu when you sit down. The food wasn't that great. Our main was a thin slice of unseasoned steak, overcooked so it bounced off the plate, and swimming in olive oil. It was served with some drowned spinach, again unseasoned, and some fried potatoes, half of which were still cold from the fridge. To be blunt, the worst plate of food we've ever had in Italy! On our second night we ate 50 yards down the hill at the La Palud Pizzeria. Great food at similar prices. This is a brilliant small hotel still run with pride and passion by a lovely elderly lady. Give it a try!

Family run, this little hotel gives you the feeling of being at home. It is cosy and clean with really magnificent views. The staff are very well mannered, polite, and professional. As for the food - It was super, very well presented and very tasty. It is definitely the chef who makes all the difference!! We shall return without a doubt as we make this journey often and Chalet Joli is a great place for a few days relax before the next leg of our journey.

This hotel was perfect for our stay! The innkeeper was delightful and very helpful. She greeted us every time with a smile and warm welcome. We stayed in the family room (top floor, left window in the picture above). It had a great balcony with a beautiful view, cozy beds with super warm comforters and blankets and clean bathrooms and floors. It has a squeaky, narrow staircase that adds to the charm of the chalet. I'd stay here again without hesitation!

I stayed here with 3 friends on a long weekend ski trip to Courmayeur. We were trying to make things as cheap as possible and we got a great deal at this place. I was initially a little suspicious, but when we got there we found an absolute little gem of a hotel. The rooms are not plush, but the one we were in was plenty big-enough, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was basic but included fresh Italian bread, a selection of good cold meats, cereals, jams, yogurt etc etc. Not old or processed stuff here - just simple, tasty food. To be honest, the thing that really made the stay in Chalet Joli so good was the owner. A lovely Italian lady who stayed up to 1am to greet us after our late flight to Milan. Nothing was too much trouble and she really made you feel like you were coming home every day rather than going back to a hotel. Not overbearing - she left you alone to do your own thing, she was just really nice! La Palud is about 4km outside of Courmayeur and a taxi into town costs €15-€20 each way. However the Val Veney cable car is a 5-10 min walk down (10-15 min back up!) a hill so you can get to the slopes easily enough. I didn't try the restaurant in the hotel but heard it was nice. If I come back to Courmayeur, and after such a great trip I may well do, I'll be sure to come back to Chalet Joli!

I have put off writing this review in the hope that no-one else discovers this little gem. It's pretty basic, admittedly, so if shiny fancy stuff is what you're after, this place isn't it. But it's a homely place with nicely-sized, clean rooms with beautiful views of Mont Blanc. The greatest impression, however, was left by the owner, an aging Italian lady (whose name, embarassingly, I didn't catch), whose endearingly personal demeanour and slight scattiness made you feel like you were being welcomed by a long-lost great aunt. Personally, I'm not the sort of person who enjoys being over-familiar with people (I AM from London, after all), so in case you're wondering if the lady's manner was a bit intrusive or awkward, we didn't find it like that at all. But she was incredibly hospitable and helpful, staying up until 1am to greet us, letting me hang out all day in her private living room on our last day when my friends were out skiing, and arranged for us to get a discount at a lovely nearby spa (although I'm guessing this bit wasn't a purely altruistic move). The restaurant was pretty decent too, although I only took lunch there, not dinner, so can't comment on the evening fare. Our main motivating factor for choosing the place was price (it was CHEAP) and location (it's near the main cable car, but I was very glad we had a car rather than face a 15 minute uphill walk after a day's skiing). But if I'm in Courmeyour again, which is pretty likely be based on my experience of skiing there, then I shall return.

This very tipical, small and confortable mountain hotel is a dream for couple and people looking for a simple, warm ambiance to have a relaxed test in an astonishing view of Mont Blanc What you are viewing through a window of the restaurant deserves an award from National Geographic. On top of that, the passionate and continuing friendness of the owner and personnel. Last but not least, a restaurant that the Chief Pasquale brings to a important level of quality.
