I have put off writing this review in the hope that no-one else discovers this little gem. It's pretty basic, admittedly, so if shiny fancy stuff is what you're after, this place isn't it. But it's a homely place with nicely-sized, clean rooms with beautiful views of Mont Blanc. The greatest impression, however, was left by the owner, an aging Italian lady (whose name, embarassingly, I didn't catch), whose endearingly personal demeanour and slight scattiness made you feel like you were being welcomed by a long-lost great aunt. Personally, I'm not the sort of person who enjoys being over-familiar with people (I AM from London, after all), so in case you're wondering if the lady's manner was a bit intrusive or awkward, we didn't find it like that at all. But she was incredibly hospitable and helpful, staying up until 1am to greet us, letting me hang out all day in her private living room on our last day when my friends were out skiing, and arranged for us to get a discount at a lovely nearby spa (although I'm guessing this bit wasn't a purely altruistic move). The restaurant was pretty decent too, although I only took lunch there, not dinner, so can't comment on the evening fare. Our main motivating factor for choosing the place was price (it was CHEAP) and location (it's near the main cable car, but I was very glad we had a car rather than face a 15 minute uphill walk after a day's skiing). But if I'm in Courmeyour again, which is pretty likely be based on my experience of skiing there, then I shall return.…
