This small, lovely little B&B, a few minutes walk from San Marco Square, is run by a charming and knowledgeable young man Giovanni, a native of Venice, who gave us wonderful suggestions, welcomed us each morning with a smile, and was one of the most trusting hotel owners I've ever met. The rooms were more than adequate, for a little... More

We booked this place as part of our honeymoon and after spending a lovely night and day in Verona, we were looking forward to Venice. Having stayed there before I had looked for a place with a view of the Lagoon and a sense of intimacy. This place appeared to tick all the boxes and they were even offering a... More

Compared to 99% of Venetian hotels, this is a great place to stay. The position is wonderful - the view onto the lagoon is sublime (think how much you would pay elsewhere) and the neighbourhood is close to the action, but not touristy. + the Arsenale is divine. Big drawbacks come from fact this is not a hotel but converted... More

We've been to Venice a few times before and stayed at the 5* Bauer Palace and the Excelsior on the Lido which cost a fortune. This time we wanted to spend a bit less - so after discounting cheaper hotels and apartments we came across La Rosa dei Venti which overlooks the lagoon and is a 10 minute walk from... More

We stayed at the Rosa dei Venti several years ago in one of their back rooms. This time we decided to stay in one of the front rooms with the view and a balcony. The room is large and lovely, the location is great and the view unbeatable. However, there are several cautions. This B&B is on the 2nd floor... More

What a great surprise La Rosa dei Venti turned out to be. We got a great room rate, so we assumed it would be an average, mid range European hotel. The location could not be better-right on the Grand Canal. A nondescript doorway next to a gelateria led to a charming lobby/siting room with a breathtaking view of the canal.... More

We spent 4 nights here and loved the waterfront location, away from the crowds, but close enough to stroll to the major attractions. The place needs quite a lot of work and attention to bring up to the standard that they advertise. It could be fabulous - but, quite a few things let it down. Much of the furniture needs... More

There is very little I can fault with La Rosa dei Venti. We booked through the website and had no trouble with the system. On the day we were scheduled to arrive, we received a friendly call in the morning to make sure everything was okay, and that we knew which vaporetti to take, where to stop and landmarks to... More

I stayed at this small friendly boutique hotel with a great view overlooking the water. It was away from the crowds but close enough to walk to St Marks Place. There is a great cafe right next door to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Staying here was ane of the highlights of my Italian trip. More
