Five minute walk from train station, wonderful staff, very nice room. The hotel was clean and located on the grand canal. Would stay there again and will recommend to friends when they visit. More

Gate 1 booked this hotel for us as an extension to our trip to Croatia and Slovenia. The location is great near the rail and bus stations. Rooms and breakfast were fine. Don't miss taking your second cup of coffee in the morning outside and watch the local traffic on the Grand Canal go by. More

Having stayed at the Principle in 2009 and had a lovely stay, we were really looking forward to our second stay. However, whilst the location remains great and the breakfast very good, the rest was sadly a disappointment; we were allocated a standard double room (twin beds pushed together), wardrobe and chest of drawers in a space that was quite... I read many reviews before choosing this hotel. I was traveling to Venice from London with two other ladies--one a Senior Citizen like myself, and the other a young lady. We booked through a tour company and got a great deal including hotel and flight. We were concerned , after reading reviews, that our triple room would just be a... More

Hotel Prinicipe is about 200m from main train station and right on the Grand canal. As we had travelled by train it was ever so easy to walk out of the station and down the street. This area is a must if arriving by train so you dont have to lug your luggage elsewhere by boat. The hotel is a... More

Hotel Principe has a nice location not to far from bus and train station so getting from airport was easy. Hotel Lobby was nice, room less so. Our room was on the 5th floor but the lift only goes to the 4th floor so you have to use the stairs to reach it. Our room was small but clean. Biggest... More

This is a hotel coverted from three old buildings situated directly on the Canale Grande just down from the railway station, so a hotel with character. The rooms are comfortable, there is a great terrace overlooking the Canale Grande, and at breakfast you can watch the "commuter traffic" from your table. In the evening a pianist plays in the bar,... The long terrace with plenty of tables and chairs and the large and small dining rooms, as well as the bar face the Grand Canal. It's worth walking over the bridge by the railway station and looking over the water at the hotel. At first our bedroom on the 3rd floor seemed small, but we later appreciated the large size... More

The hotel is only 5 minutes from Ferrovia so makes it ideal for getting from the bus or train station if you're not great at wheeling your suitcase through the streets. It also makes it easy to get everywhere because the No1 vaporetto also stops at Ferrovia and on that line you can get down to St Marks Square in... More
