It's usually very easy to find a good hotel, and it's not that hard to find a luxurious hotel in a place like Florence. But it is a quite rare opportunity to be able to stay in a hotel like Palazzo Tolomei, because it's a very different experience. Staying in a palace from the 17th century gives you the sense... More

Sometimes when we travel things fall into place in a most magical way and that is what happened with our trip to Florence and our stay at Palazzo Tolomei. Daniela and her staff took us under their wings from the very first minute we stepped into their midst. Daniela, Chiara and Geraldine were friendly and warm and were quick to... More

Our stay at Palazzo Tolomei was one of our most unique travel experiences. It is rare to walk in to a place and be greeted as welcoming and warmly as we were by Daniela and Chirara. They were so helpful in getting us settled in for our five night stay. Although the staff is not there 24 hours a day,... More

The Palazzo is spectacular. Have just returned from 2 nights stay I feel like Ive been in a time machine. We walked through the enormous gates into a lovely courtyard. Got the (very small lift) to the first floor where were greeted warmly by Chiara, Then we met Daniella.A moment you won't forget. This lady is so gracious and clearly... More

Not a hotel but a residence (no 24h. service etc.), it's a bit faded - like all of Florence - but we loved it for not being a standardized plastic hotel and the atmosphere is wonderful. Warm personal approach of the owner Mrs. Agnelli and her staff. Walking distance to everywhere in Florence.

The Palazzo is something else: perfect location in downtown Florence with everything in an easy walking distance. The Palazzo itself feels like your own secret: a series of outstanding rooms (some of them have to be seen to be believed) over two floors of an elegant and important building. You'll see plenty like it in Florence - but you'll be... More

Firstly, don't think you are going to an actual Palazzo, you are going into a small part of what used to be one, a long time ago!. As you arrive you go in though a big wrought iron gate into a rather faded but atmospheric courtyard then take the stairs or lift to the first floor. When you first enter... More

Palazzo Tolomei is a real gem. Daniella is a very warm and gracious hostess who is generous with tips and advice, but doesn't crowd you. We were incredibly lucky with our room; we got the loggia suite with two rooms, a kitchen and bathroom and a stunning loggia overlooking the roofs of Florence - an ideal place to sip a... More

Palazzo Tolomei is an historic residence in the heart of Florence....the descriptoin says "residence" so don't expect someone to be at your beck and call 24/7. It is what it is, a residence. It's not a hotel, it's not a daycare, so you are on your own most of the time, which is the way we prefer to travel. The... More

The Palazzo Tolomei is an amazing place to stay for a first timer to Florence. Firstly there is the amazing Daniella. She makes you feel like a guest in her home rather than a guest of a hotel. She welcomed us and gave us an upgrade to a suite when she found out we were celebrating our anniversary. The rooms are...
