Unassuming facade, small public spaces from an American perspective, it fits perfectly with the general feel of the medieval walled town of Siena. The hotel occupies a tall narrow sliver of a large stone building. I enjoyed climbing the stairs to our room, though my elderly father would have preferred an elevator. The views from the top floors are spectacular.... More

I stayed in the very top room - 53 steps up from the reception - for four nights in mid-June. I thought the room, bathroom and a/c were good. So was the refrigerator. The view, directly to the east, was wonderful around sunrise and sunset - but I did have to close the shutters shortly after sunrise, because the sun... More

My husband just spent 19 days touring Italy from North to South and our stay here was disappointing. Upon our arrival, a note was affixed to the front door stating they would be back pronto. 10 minutes later a young lady arrived to check us in. She was very strange and didn't seem to have all her faculties. Our room... More

maybe it was just bad luck, but we had no hot water and noone was around the lobby to ask for help. the hotel was left unattended. unbeknownst to us the owner lives across the street. we should have know to call her there if there was a problem. she was apologetic and did the right thing and discounted our... I booked this hotel because Arthur Frommer recommended it highly. I just really did not care for it. It was clean, the room was fine but it all felt sort of claustrophobic. Lobby non existent. They provided you with a key to unlock the outer door at night. I did not know if the owner was there, or for that... More

Per other reviews; the location is the main selling point on this property. The woman who runs it is also extremly kind. I think it is possible that some people find the place charming, though we did not happen to feel that way. It was disappointing that our a/c was broken given how hot it was while we were in... More

Very good situated hotel in centre of Siena. Breakfast was OK and the staff very friendly. Calm streets around so our sleep was perfect. Rooms are big enough and very clean, with all needed facilities. I would come back again. More

We booked the room just an hour before our arrival to Siena at 8pm. We got our price and hurry to find the hotel itself. The probable owner "Patricia" gave us instructions and left us a key attached to the front door of a hotel. No one was at the reception but Patricia left us a nice welcoming letter with... More

Nice place. I liked the style of the rooms and the place in general. The receptionists were extremely friendly. The lady insisted on dragging my suitcase upstairs which I find weird. The size of the rooms is OK. I found my room very clean, my bedlinen and towels were changed daily. My room was extremely quiet. The hotel is in... More
