Since the late 1990s, we have always chosen Hotel Rosalba for it's location, value, cleanliness and simplicity. The owner loves her family property, and she runs a tight ship. Nice views, and just steps away from the escalators that lead to the historic center of Perugia. Breakfast is free, but it's coffee or tea and a pastry. Still, well worth... More

Perfect for an overnight stay for the four of us. An escalator trip away from the centro storico. Extremely clean and the price was perfect. No breakfast but who cares at that price. I liked the proprietor. She was helpful and extremely friendly. Gave us a ticket to put on the dashboard of car so we wouldn't get a fine.... More

My wife and I took a side trip to Perugia to check out the Perigina Chocolates. We had not booked a hotel but stumbled across the Rosalba Hotel. What a gem. It is situate near the escalator to the old city and therefore in a perfect position. The rooms wre basic but clean. The hotel is light and airy and... More

My husband and I and our two kids stay have stayed here every year for 10 years. The location, just steps from the historic center of town, is TERRIFIC for the money. It's not a fancy place, but it has always been squeaky clean and well-cared for. There is a place just around the corner where we go for coffee... More

I had to have a friend call the hotel directly for us to book, as the online reservation and emailing did not seem to work. An older woman and a middle-aged man work the door of the hotel, which is always locked and one needs to buzz in to be let in during daytime hours. If you drive, there is... More

We are really sorry if somebody had problems with on line reservation. Usually we haven't problems. Perugia is quite city, but in some periods there are music festivals and the people live in the city all night long. We are really sorry but we serve Italian Breakfast. When I read about the Rosalba on Tripadvisor, I checked out its website and saw a picture of an inexpensive hotel with a big parking lot out front -- and that is just what I was looking for in Perugia, which has a reputation for being an impossible town for drivers. You can't book over the internet, so I had... More

Hotel Rosalba lies conveniently at an entrance to the escalator which tunnels through Pope Paul III's 1540 Fortress (known as Rocca Paolina) up to the sight-seeing center of the old city. Don't expect the hotel manager to give you this information, however - she was singularly cranky and unhelpful. That was unfortunate because, otherwise, the rooms we had were extremely... More

We stayed for one night at Hotel Rosalba. We were not expecting to stay in Perugia and needed to find somewhere to stay that would be up to our standards. This hotel was a very nice surprise find. The location is outside the walls of the city, but an escalator bringing you up to the piazza is just outside the... More
