This hotel has been completely and beautifully renovated barely three years ago. The results are astonishing! The quality rooms are tastefully decorated in a contemporary style whereas the public spaces are a successful mix of modern and classic. The Queen Victoria restaurant serves good food and we enjoyed the breakfast and appetizer time. Although the weather was awful while we... More

Would never stay there, the hotel is terrible, food awful and no care what so ever. The maintenance is not there and no one to serve you the vegetarian food. The journey to the Pilatus in Gandola is fantastic

My husband planned for a much needed trip to Luzern & I'm glad he choose this hotel. Built in the 1800's, the hotel is nestled in the Alps on top of Mt. Pilatus. You have to take a 30 minute gondola ride to the top which is a nice little treat because you can see everything from above. We stayed... More

Having stayed in this gracious hotel more than 20 years ago my husband and I were keen to return with our children, particularly knowing that it had recently had a major refurbishment. We were not disappointed. We stayed in two rooms for three nights in January 2013 and were lucky to have sensational weather so we got to enjoy the... More

Excellent hotel with a magic setting. Dramatic way up to the hotel with a cable car most stunning views in the snow. Unfortunately it was cloudy and could not see much. Nice meet and greet pre-dinner drinks with a good history on the hotel. Very good food with a set menu.

Had a lunch here on my trip to Lucerne. Eating a traditional mushroom ragout with a nice and warm soup at 2000m above sea level while reading David Mitchell was just awesome.Although might appear a bit on the expensive side, the views and experience is a must.

My husband and I stayed here in September 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. It was a very luxurious hotel and the price reflects that. You also have to take a pretty pricey cogwheel to get up there but once you do it was picturesque. The hotel is beautiful, the bathroom was amazing (my favorite of all the places we... More

Stayed for 2 nights and spend Xmas Eve and Xmas here. Views were spectacular, and the surrounds are supurb. We had a family type room (1 double bed, one double foldout, one baby cot). Room was great, newly rennovated, all nice, could not fault it. Free internet from room. Staff were very freindly and helpful.. As it was off-season (ie... More

It's difficult to describe how wonderful this experience was. The historic hotel at the top of Pilatus live up to it's expectations. We arrived on one of the last cable cars to extensive mist/cloud and cold at the beginning of September, but I half expected this. The Hotel made up for the lack of vision. The check in was easy,... Only 24 rooms. Leisurely 3hr 4 1/2 course dinner as part of a package in 22 dec 2012. Power loss at night from 140 km/hr storm added to excitement. Bring flashlight! Great breakfast w/ eggs done to order. Recommended highly. R Coveney
