Our first holiday in Switzerland was at the Hotel Falken, Wengen. Zeroed in on the Falken after a lot of research on the internet and we were not disappointed. Great service and very helpful staff. We arrived by the 9.45 PM train from Lauterbrunnen and the owner came us to pick from the train station which is actually a 5... More

Stayed here in August 2011 and couldn't have bettered the view anywhere in Wengen - which is saying something in a place full of wonderful views! All the rooms are full of character and period features and the food was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and even sent on by post a jacket we left behind. If you are... More

There were 2 couples in our party------we enjoy the old fashioned style of the Falken with its comfortable Lounges and bars. All the staff are friendly and effecient . The food is lovely ---but the wine is too expensive ! 32 sfr is high------20 sfr is more acceptable ? The bigger double bedrooms with bath are acceptable but not the... More

I had a very relaxing stay here. Wiliam B's review is spot on. Was made to feel very welcome by Sina and all the staff as soon as I arrived. We had a welcome drink and then shown bedrooms. Mine was small, delightful, very simply furnished on the fourth floor with a wooden atticy ceiling and wonderous view of the floodlt... More

For those who detest mini-bars, "Junior Executive Suites" with an uninterupted view of the back yard and fellow guests who do their best to avoid both visual and verbal contact, you should try the Falken! As well as a lack of mini-bars there are no TV's in the rooms iether which has the effect of forcing guests to actaully go... More

I agree with Scareybob and teflon1956. This is a memorable place, full of folks who have returned over and over again. It has the feeling of being welcomed into someone's grand old home. I was there during the week of the DHO ski club McMillan Cup Race and it was like being part of extended family. The location is good... More

Our second stay at the Falken. This is a lovely, old hotel with great character and tradition. Full of antiques and old photos, with creaky floors and a homely feel. Lots of visitors have been coming for years and appear to be almost 'family'. The hotel is personally run by the Cova family - who have a fine skiing pedigree... More

Our room was small with a tiny toilet/shower, (we were told they were expecting a single occupency from our travel company}. However the character of the hotel shone through and we had a marvelllous time. There is a great ambience to the place starting from the owner and her family and staff and especially the clientelle who on the whole... More

Having had a really great time here in 2011 we decided to come back and bring friends with us. Last year we had Room 25 on the corner which was spacious and something we really appreciated. This time we were in Room 24 which was probably one of the smallest rooms in the hotel. You had to plan walking around... More

We've been staying at the Hotel Falken for many years, and continue to return. This family-run hotel takes obvious pride in its distinction as a "historic" hotel. As such, the floors are a bit creaky, and the rooms are not luxuriously large. But what this 100 year old hotel lacks in modern amenity, it more than makes up for with... More
