Basic but weighed up by the extrememly friendly reception staff. She was like a sunshine! Would have like a breakfast including some eggs and vegetables however this seams to be tricky in Switzerland. Short walking distance to the cable cars is a huge plus. More

Basic, but cosy and well-located hotel in Old Zermatt. The lady checking us in was very friendly and helpful, but the next morning the guy in charge (a blonde middle-aged man who hardly speaks English) was exceptionally rude both on the phone and when speaking to him by the front desk - very unprofessional and made the decision on whether... Spent a ski week at the Adonis, which is a good, basic bed and breakfast, with a cosy sitting room/bar area on the ground floor. The room we had was a large, twin, spotlessly clean and a lovely, spacious modern bathroom/shower. Staff were very helpful and very friendly, especially when we asked advice . If there was a downside for... More

In such an expensive resort town you're going to spend a lot for a basic room, as is the case at Adonis. Adonis is run by a nice enough inn-keeper, but the rooms are basic and aged, and the beds are hard and small. We reserved a room with 'one big bed', which turns out to be a double, compared... More

The hotel looked a little far from the station, but it was actually only 10~15 min walk at most. It is not centrally located but it is very quiet. The receptionist was very kind and she lent us sticks for hiking (actually for skiing) which helped us a lot! Thank you again for your kind help and advise for hiking!... More

Just had a weeks sking in Zermatt (5-12 march), it was fab ! Skied over to Italy a few times, it was brilliant. Glorious sunshine every day ! Adonis is a average hotel, decent size rooms, clean bathroom. Same bland breakfast every morning and if you want a boiled egg, you pay extra ! Never heard of that before. The... More

I have just come back from a week's skiing in Zermatt and stayed this time at the Adonis Hotel on a B&B basis (perviously stayed at Hotel Astoria - which was far to noisy). The Adonis is set in a quite road not too far from the main shopping area and is perfect for those who want to enjoy peace... More

it's been nearly three years since our stay, so I'm a trifle blurry on the specifics. I can tell you that I was more pleased with Hotel Adonis than I was with Zermatt as a whole. Don't get me wrong-- it's certainly a charming and picturesque place, and that I loved about Zermatt-- but I couldn't get past the feeling... More

We stayed at the Adonis for three nights before Christmas. Although some distance from the station, the hotel has its own electric taxi. It is well situated for the lift up to Furri, which gives access to the glacier ski area and the Gornergrat, thanks to the new chairlift. Skis and boots can be hired next to the lift station,...
