stayed here during the new year period 2011.... old hotel and decor can confirm this...rooms were cleaned every day.. good point.. Food was very expensive for what we got.... a main course £20. (chicken and chips)... and this city tax they add on to everything......soon adds on to bill..... staff were pleasant and polite. bit far out of the town........ More

This is probably the darkest hotel I've ever stayed in. I had a large room with a comfy bed & view of Nijmegen town & bridge, but it was so badly lit I fell over furniture. It also made me wonder what the darkness was hiding... The hotel was probably top class in the 80s but it hasn't been touched... More

The rooms are generously sized, with decor from the 80's, yet functional and comfortable. The hotel has a dark, moody interior thanks to a lot of browns, orange and creme, and modest lighting in the public areas. Don't let this put you off. Cleanliness, service and comfort can not be faulted. The reception staff are fine people. I had a... More

If you do not want to see elevator from 1960's, not smiling staff in the reception, unfurnished room with poor wardrop ( but clean) find another hotel. It is two stars in reality not four. More

This was my second trip to Nijmegen and first stay at this hotel On the plus side they allowed us to check in early (10.30am). The location is good. It is just outside the city and in a residential neighbourhood but a level stroll takes you to the centre in 10 to 15 minutes. It is definitely dated. The decor... More

I have stayed here a lot over the last 8 years. It works out cheaper than the Mercure. I must agree with some of the other comments about the 4 star rating. The rating is awarded because of the facilities they have, Bar, sauna, pool, restaurant etc but yes the décor is quite dated. I will stay here again as... More

After a stay here I reckoned one thing, you will either love or hate this hotel.A 50 per rating does not surprise. Anyway we loved it.With a family we were given two adjoining suite, wonderfully huge and spacious overlooking the city and the river, fine large bathroom ,TV ,minibar etc. Elevator straight to the leisure centre which was a decent size swimming pool... We stayed in what was described as a "de-luxe" double room but as our title suggests there was certainly NO "luxe"". A 4star rating is very misleading. The room was very dated including the bathroom. The room was clearly a smoking room in the past as cigarette burns were evident on the chairs in the room and bath area although... More

As per other reviews, this place has seen better days. It's an 1960's decor but has no stairs! The bathroom might not be wheelchair excesible but the rooms are young family stroller excessible. The staff are very good and bar manager very accomodating. The breakfast is very good with fresh bread and several toppings to choose from, it is the... More

The place is a little run down in very serious and urgent need of renovation. Staff did what they could, but can't possibly make this value for money. Location is good from where you can explore the lovely city and surroundings. More
