The people are marvelous and very, very helpful, the hotel is historic and beautiful. However, the rooms need dressers for clothing--the closets are too small for a 5-day stay. The noise outside is carzy and it's impossible too sleep. If you close off all the windows it's too hot in the room. The bathrooms are great--huge tub, lots of hot...

We stayed here when we did a river cruise...what a great location, just minutes to anywhere. We have stayed here 2 times and are planning to stay again in April 2013 for the tulip markets. It's an older hotel but in a very quiet neighborhood, which is what we liked about it.

I have just returned from Amsterdam and we used this hotel. It was very very poor. The rooms are very tatty with peeled and dirty wall paper, tiles falling off in the bathroom and generally very down at heel. It was not good value for money. The breakfast is a complete rip off 20euros per person per breakfast. Really really...

An excellent hotel with great staff who are always to happy to help. We stayed for two nights and this is the second time we have stopped here. The hotel is a great base to explore the city and is right in the middle of all the action. The hotel has the added benefit of being very quiet at night...

Stayed here for 1 night only but overall we were impressed. This hotel is clearly old and in need of some repair but for the price we paid we can't complain. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from Central Station so very well located and the room was surprisingly quiet considering. The staff were very friendly and room service...

Thin walls, uncomfortable bed, a battered looking room with peeling wallpaper and a rundown carpet, and a tiny closet so shoddy that it couldn't hold my coat on a hanger without the rod falling down.
Stayed 1 night then checked out and found someplace more comfortable.
If you'r young and on a budget and just need a place to crash,...

I booked a group into this hotel in February. The rooms were clean although you could see chipped tiles and worn paint here and there. They make you pay for the internet and you have to go down to the front desk everyday to buy a new log in code which is annoying. You also have to pay for the...

As many reviewers have pointed out, this hotel could do with some updates, but it is very well kept and clean, and the staff were friendly. The rooms probably have not been updated (or repainted/papered) since the 80's, but as the design/layout is period style, this is ok. The bathroom is also fine, and the rooms comfortable. I can't comment...

Central location ideal for exploring Amsterdam, decor and rooms are a little dated
