I've read a few reviews before going there, and I do understand where some are coming from, but definitely not others... the rooms are indeed small, but they have all the space you need, specially if you're travelling alone. You can barely hear the noise outside (you can hear the planes flying by or the ambulance on the street, but it's very muffled) and the rooms have good sound insulation + heating. The issue is the other clients staying at the inn that don't have common sense and respect for anyone else and just arrive late at night screaming and talking loud for no reason... you really can't blame the hotel for that. The public transportation is amazing there, with tram and direct bus from Schipol airport nearby. I've went to a concert in Melkweg, so also very close to the arena, which was the purpose of my trip. It's pretty much center Amsterdam, so it is an old building, so the stairs are a bit small. It wasn't my case, because I had only a small bag, but the hotel staff asked the couple in front of me if they needed help carrying their bags upstairs. So the staff goes extra and beyond to try to be helpful. Would return there a next time.…

Located in the heart of Amsterdam, everything is reachable by a walking distance. We had a comfortable stay and surprisingly relaxing experience in this hotel. Florian is a great reception staff with a big heart. His recommendations were very helpful and his services made our stay so much better. He is also working better serving breakfast and working in reception. The breakfast was more than enough and well balanced for the price they are asking. I totally recommend this place and thank you Florian for your kindness!

I choose a hotel on the location to be convenient to what we are seeing. Walking is getting difficult for us at this age. We had a change of plans and had to book a hotel about two months before our trip in May. Not many left in the area I was looking at. We booked a first floor canal view budget room at $300 per night. At some point the hotel wrote us to say they moved us to the second floor for the view. I understand in Europe the the first floor is actually the second and so on….the the first floor being the “ ground” floor. We thought ok…when we arrive they brought us to the 4 th floor…59 steps…we counted….hubby uses a cane and they were kind enough to bring up ( & down ) our luggage. We were only staying one night and of course…lethargic after a 24 hour travel day…so, we did not argue. The hotel has seen better days…very sparse…run down, broken banisters, no elevator😂. The staff was very nice and helpful. After checking out our gps n maps we found the main canal was right around the corner & spent our pre- cruise time walking between the famous 9 streets and the Pancake House was a hit…both on YouTube. We found a rickshaw to give us a ride back to the hotel. As we are getting older we need to take more time & more $$ to get the amenities we need. This was followed by a fab canal cruise in So Holland with the Boat & Bike group & then. A Norway cruise on HAL Rotterdam. A lovely and precious time had by all. …

We had room 22 and found it very good for the money. Down sides: There was mould in bathroom, no storage and the room was quite cold at night. Positives: staff were always very friendly happy to help, bed comfier than expected, hot shower. Stairs in the hotel are very very steep so bear in mind if that’s an issue for you. Good location walking distance to everywhere. Overall great value for money/as expected for the cheap cost.

The area is very noisy. We could only sleep between 4a.m. (end of parties) and 6a.m. (start of construction works and traffic). In addition to that, there was a very bad smell in the room when we first came in. Appart from the noise, the hotel location is good and is close to a tram station.

Marilou is the best receptionist!!!! She helped me a lot and she found a solution quickly with the problem that I had with the accommodation. Thanks a lot once again because I was trying to communicate with the other receptionist as well (Vondel Garden Hotel) and they seemed not to understand.

I booked this hotel through booking.com and cancelled my stay 3 months before arrival due to a family bereavement and change of circumstances, they tried to charge me £287 for cancelling and I transferred my money out of that account so they couldn’t take it, they then proceeded to try and take £100, £50, £20 then 1p! How disgusting! Safe to say I have cancelled my card! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! Based on previous reviews it is unsanitary anyway. Lots of hotels in Amsterdam offer free cancellation, not these blood suckers! Embarrassment, clearly trying to scrape together as much money as they can because they don’t make any!

Stayed here with a few friends, was not expecting much as it being a 2 star hotel, but definitely exceeded expectations tremendously, rooms were nice and tidy and staff was very polite and helpful. added bonus not to far from the city centre

I was staying in the fourth floor. This was very tiring to go upstairs with my luggage. The stairs themselves were very tiny and terryifing to climb. I had to leave my second my bag in a friend of mine hotel to avoid going up with such terrible stairs. The smell of the room is sewer and very low grade detergents may be basic chlorine detergent. The mattress is really so soft and i woke up with back pain from it.
